1st Shot || Voice

[As background noise to Lilith's frantic chattering, there's the loud revving of what seems to be a very large chainsaw. The fact that she's either running or getting out of breath is also clear in her voice.

Truth be told, she's chasing after something. And on her first day here. Impressive business, Lilith.]

Hey! Hey, I uh, I kind of need some help here. I'm new to this place and I got that sentient weapon and everything and I picked out this really badass one I mean, it is totally swank. It's probably one of the coolest things I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot of shit.

Oh, but anyway, I revved it up and it's got a helluva lot more kick to it than I thought it would and it kind of got away from me. It's also pretty sharp. I mean, it cut up this lamp post-looking thing pretty quickly and now it's just sort of flailing around ruining the ground even more. I tried shooting at it but I think that just made it angrier or something. I tried apologizing and told it that it needs to stop, but it's not really doing that and I can't really grab it I mean I'm pretty sure if it's pissed it'll just cut my freakin' hand off and I sort of like my hands.

So uh, can anyone give me a hand here?

[There's a pause.]

I don't mean actually giving me your hand, I meant help.

ooc: so Lilith has lost control of her sentient weapon! It's a chainsaw katana, something along the lines of this. People are welcome to find her with action tags or whatever!

[Lilith moves to stop Sayaka, but she stops when she realizes she doesn't really know how. What is she going to do, knock the rampaging chainsaw katana out of her hands when she's already got it? It probably would have just caused more trouble.

So she watches, and takes the sword by the handle when it's offered to her. Then, at last, it stops and settles into brief silence. That was kind of unsettling.]

I thought I had a good enough grip on it. Are you alright?

[ 'Unsettling' is a feeling she causes a lot, tbh. Sayaka why are you so weird. ]

Yeah, I'm fine. My healing's really good, so it's no big deal. [ She flexes her hand, double-checking for any sign of injury. ] I didn't want anyone else to get hurt trying to stop it.

[That made Lilith feel suddenly stupid. Her healing was faster than most as well, but she wasn't the one to grab the sword first. Her feeling was the same, for no one else to get hurt, but there they were.

A little awkwardly, she scratches the back of her head, averting her eyes for just a second.]

Well, thanks. Oh, my name's Lilith, by the way.

[After a moment's thought, she extends a hand to Sayaka, recovering her confidence.]

Nice to meetcha.

[ Crazy chainsaw-katana lady, you're alright. After a moment, she accepts the handshake with a laugh. ]

Sayaka. [ She gives the katana another look. Now that she isn't being cut up by it, it's... actually kind of cool. ] Is that your weapon? It looks pretty interesting.

[The laugh definitely makes Lilith more relaxed. There's a grin back on her face.]

Right? [RIGHT? Lilith raises it up, looking at it proudly before she remembers that they met because she lost control of the stupid thing.

She sighs.]

I'm thinking it doesn't really like me, though. [She turns to look at Sayaka again.] Can these things do that? Like people?

... I'm not really sure. [ She's never actually thought about it. What a weird idea. ] It's supposed to get stronger, but I don't know if they meant it like that.

[ Sort of giving her sword a questioning look rn. It's never run away on her, but it also doesn't have a chainsaw for a blade. This may be relevant. ]

[Oh hey that's right Sayaka has a sword. She points at it with her free hand.]

So, you know how to use that, right? Swords and stuff?

Yeah, I do. I normally use more than one, but...

[ In the end, she didn't even need the one she had. After a moment, she opens her hand, and the sword vanishes again. No point carrying it around unnecessarily. ]

What about you? [ Most people seem to pick something they're familiar with, but she's seen enough exceptions to make it worth asking. ]

[Lilith gave a small shrug. She didn't really feel right storing a living sword in her communicator, so for the moment she held onto it.]

Nope, never used a sword in my life. I didn't think it'd be so hard, though. Go around and stab people and stuff, right?

[She holds the chainsaw katana out in front of herself with both hands, looking it over.]

I guess this thing is kinda harder to hold onto.

There's definitely more to it than that. [ Not... that she can really talk, given her usual strategy of 'run in and slash until it dies', but. ] If you wanna practice sometime, I don't mind. I do a lot of training anyway.

[Zer0 seemed to have an easy enough time of it, and he/it and she shared a similar advantage: invisibility. Even if she didn't really know how to fight with a sword, it wasn't something people could avoid if they couldn't see it.

Still, Lilith would be happy to take Sayaka up on that offer.]

Sure. I should probably get some practice in with this thing before I try swinging it at something trying to kill me.

[And there's another question.]

You haven't been here long, have you?

[ Hesitantly: ]

... Actually, it's been a while. Nearly six months. [ It makes her wince, putting that into words. Six months away from home and she's accomplished so little. ] Some people have been here longer, though.

Six months, huh. Have you ever fought these United Earth guys before?

[ Oookay, some unpleasant memories there. She looks away. ]

... Yeah. They attacked a few months ago. [ And it was hard not to be at least slightly on edge, ever since. ] There were bombs, and some kinda poison gas. Most people got stuck underground, but a few of us stayed out there and fought.

[oops

Lilith raises a hand, as if to reach out to her, in apology.]

Hey, sorry. I should have figured, being in a war and all. You don't have to talk about it.

No, it's—

[ —okay, but it isn't really. She shakes her head. ]

I'm used to it. Something like that might happen again, so...

[Lilith boasts her confidence at that thought.]

Well hey, you've got nothing to be worried about if they try it again. I might not know how to use this thing but I'll kick so much ass it won't even matter.

You sound pretty confident.

[ To say the least. Sayaka doesn't seem doubtful, though — just curious. Not even Kyouko sounded that insanely cocky. ]

[Being told she sounds confident just makes her more confident, really.]

'Cause I know I'm a bonafide badass.

[Then Lilith looked up to the sky, seeing clouds and some streaks of light, but no moon base.]

And I've fought scarier and bigger things.

[She looks back down with a wide grin. There were sad things that came with their victory as well, but it was victory still.]

I don't think I need to tell ya' who won.

[ She does have to smile at that, even if it's more from relief than anything. ]

Well, that's good. Sometimes they bring people who haven't fought before. [ It makes her feel sick to think about. They shouldn't be involved. ] I don't really get it. They're just gonna be in danger.

That seems pretty stupid. If they're just kidnapping people from all over place, why not just kidnap people who are at least gonna be useful?

Makes sense why they grabbed me, I guess.

[She's sort of weirdly proud about getting kidnapped.]

I guess they can't control it. [ Not... that it makes things any better. ] I get that we're supposed to help out, but having people like that here just makes it harder.

Hey, it's just more reason to end it as soon as we can, right? Keeping people safe and all that.
