[This is the first time Lena's made a post of her own, and she looks nervous. For any who haven't met her yet, she looks like your average teenage girl, albeit with one vivid green eye and one gold eye. Probably not too unusual around these parts, though.]

Hi. My name's Lena and--

[She hesitates, sighs, and looks away from the camera for a moment.]

And I was hoping I could get some help? I have this staff from the armory, and I'm not sure how to do stuff with it.

[So clear, this girl.]

I mean, I can do... lots of things. I have powers. I know that's not big news around here, but I was wondering how to use the staff with them, because back home I don't need anything to channel it. But this weapon's supposed to adapt to me? Or something. So I figured it might help.

[She gives the camera a self-deprecating smile.]

Sometimes my powers can be a little unpredictable. That's why I was wondering if anyone could help teach me how to use the staff? Please let me know.

[She's about to turn off the camera, but then she remembers something and the image shakes for a moment.]

Oh, and I don't mind using my powers to help out anybody who needs it. Back home I had to keep it hidden, so it's kind of nice to not have to do that here. Umm, I can control the elements, levitate stuff, create things... Just ask and I'll see if I can help.

I may have the abilities. All I'm asking you to do is explain it to me over time. To practice.

[He holds his impatience at bay for now, smiling and hoping she might change her mind.]

Maybe we can help each other. I can help you to control your abilities, to master them. You can help me learn new tricks with the powers I already possess.

It's not like that. I didn't learn my powers; I was born with them.

[She holds out a hand and a flame appears in it, dancing harmlessly against her skin before she closes her hand around it and it's gone.]

All I did was think of the fire and there it was. I'm not sure I'd be of any help.

[His tone becomes a hint dismissive, though it's mostly an act.]

If you don't want to try to gain control, you should have said so. I'm not offended. It was nice meeting you, Lena.

[And then he's slowly sitting up, as if to end the call, but trying to delay it to see if she'll respond. If she doesn't, eventually he'll close the channel.]

No, that's-- [She sighs, looking irritated.] I just meant... yes, I wanted help, but I can't give it back the same way in return. It's not possible. That's why I offered to just help people out with my powers if they needed it.

[Looking away from the camera, she adds,]

But I guess if I can't teach people what I can do, they wouldn't be able to teach me control either.

That's where you wrong. You don't need to teach people how to find it for themselves to help them, only to teach them what you do. Try. I.. have a gift, for knowing how things work. Work with me, show me what you do. If I can understand it, I can help teach you to control it.

[She looks skeptical. Call it apprehension after seeing people fight over her to get her and her powers on their side.]

That seems like a lot of work on your part. What would you get out of it?

If I understand what you can do, it might help me to use my own abilities in ways I didn't think of before.
