He looks a bit nervous and confused, and points to an adorable mini snowman on his nightstand.]

Um, someone was in my room?

Maybe it was Santa? I'm a little bit fuzzy on the Santa thing. I'm not sure I've been good enough to warrant a visit from such a big celebrity.

Anyway, it's a really cute snowperson. I think I'll name hir Snowball.

[Mahdi sucks in a deep breath. He doesn't mean to be rude...] But please don't come in my room when I'm sleeping, okay?!

I guess she's only really Period Lady for once a month, but...! [He is so confused about why this is funny.]

Most girls here are all period lady a few days out of the month!

I don't know rock magic. I barely know the magic I can do.

I just don't know all of those... idiot-ems. Or I just sort of hear a word and I think I know the meaning of it and it ends there.

...You can go ahead. [Mahdi swallows so hard it's almost audible.] I gotta get my brain together about this whole thing. I don't want to get angry at her if it wasn't her fault. Or if she just meant it as a fun prank...

I don't know. I'm totally embarrassed at this point. No one else thinks it's a big deal. I'll ask her about it the next time I see her.

That's 'cause I'm used to living in places where doors don't lock. Privacy is kind of a new thing for me. Just remember you've gotta talk for people to know what's up!

[Mahdi tries to smile though it's probably pretty obvious he's miserable.] Yeah, you're right. I'll try to talk to her. Do you think I made too big of a deal out of this?

( Miserable Mahdi. Collette ponders what he's asked... slowly nodding. )

Not exactly a big deal, but a little deal... but I think it makes sense? I mean, it's not a bad thing. So I'd just let her know and let all your friends know you don't like those sorts of surprises!

It's not weird to have boundaries. You've got to let people know about them, that's all!
