[A slightly pale and more-than-slightly displeased Ema greets the screen. It looks like she may have had one or two or three narrow escapes from undead.]

This is a really nice way to bring us in here... Oh, it's on already--? [she clears her throat and launches in with barely a preamable.]

I'm Detective Ema Skye... I have a question. So we've pretty much taken care of those... zombie-things now, right? [she ticks off on her fingers:] Also, we heard that animals were the disease vectors, and that something called "holy magic" [she wrinkles her nose at that] can cure them.

That's all well and good...But has anyone done a real forensic investigation? We could trace this back to the source, or at least figure out how it happened... [Her displeasure seems to melt away rather quickly.] It's all part of the power of science!

[She doesn't want to meet in a really public place, just in case a passerby gets overly curious about what they're doing.

But at the same time, she doesn't know the city all that well, and meeting up in a dark alley or somewhere hidden might not be the best.]

There's a bookstore on a corner just a block away from the apartments. We could meet outside of it?

[And Mei will be waiting there, on the corner, with a small, closed (and quite frankly smelly) shoe box in her hands and her Serperior curled around her watching the box and any passersby very closely.]

[Ema shows up soon enough, dressed in her lab coat and glasses as usual, looking around a little suspiciously for this mysterious Mei person.]

[It takes a moment for Mei to look around and finally notice Ema standing a little bit away.]

Miss Skye! [Now she's waving an arm up in the air and trotting towards her.]

Ah, Mei, that's you, right?

[Hmm. She hadn't fully realized how young this girl would be.]

[Mei trots right up to her, with her Serperior following closely behind.]

Yup, that's me! I brought what you wanted.

[She doesn't for the moment actually notice that there is ... an animal following her.]

[Scien....fically? 8\ Mei blinks for a moment while the serpent stops right behind her, looming over the girl's shoulder to visually examine Ema.]

N-Never mind.

[She glances at the snake now. Things have been weird enough that it only mildly freaks her out.]

Er... What's that?

[Mei blinks at Ema's almost-question. She's seen her share of crime dramas, but not enough for important things to really stick.]

Huh? [Looking behind her is just her Pokemon, but it still takes Mei a moment to realize that that's what Ema was referring to.]

Uh, her name's Hibiscus. She's a Pokemon...something from my world.
