[The video feed flips on, focusing (after a few seconds of jostling around) on Galadriel, sitting on the steps of the Initiative Hold, her sheathed sword beside her. Having just finished training, she’s attired appropriately, wearing a simple dress and with her hair braided and wound about her head- displaying those pointed ears quite prominently for those who might have missed them before.]

I grow weary of the constant grey here. It is overlong since I have heard a running stream or seen the sunlight filtered through the forest canopy.

Tell me, those of you who have journeyed outside this city: does greenery yet remain in this world? It would do my heart well even to hear of it.

[Not that Susan ever thought much of the Nobles she had met, they threw their bones to the dogs and generally made an awful mess of themselves. Or so she remembered, clinging to her father's leg. But... this Lady just looked too clean for that, and elves were different about that too probably.]

It is, yes. Lothlórien is my realm; the Galadhrim are my people. [So, she's basically a queen in all but name.]

Yes well, sometimes I'm not a complete idiot. You were only asking about forests. If you were one of the elves I know of, you could of had a purpose here I didn't know about... maybe someone needed torturing... [no Susan, shut up.]

[A slight tilt of the head.] Could you now? May I ask how?

[she looks uncomfortable for a moment. But... she relents all the same.] I guess you told me of yourself, so it's only fair. [she cleared her throat.] It's a little off here, but I imagine that's just a matter of adjusting. But for the most part, I can feel everything, or maybe feel is the wrong word. I'm aware... of everything. Every... star, every rock. If I concentrated enough, probably every blade of grass too.

[A little laugh] You sound almost Elven. [And that's a complement.] Our connection with the land does not run so deep, but I too may feel the land. Perhaps you will know of what I speak when I say it feels ill here.

But I had assumed you were of the Secondborn- the race of Man. Have I erred in my judgement? I have never heard of a mortal possessing such gifts. You speak of things in the power of the Maiar and Valar alone.

[She takes it as one, smiling however faintly.] ... It's not with just the land, it's with everything. The rocks, the buildings. I don't get much of a limit on it.

You haven't. I am human, my father was just a commoner who made friends with a Queen that decided he was exceedingly useful and gave him a position. [It's not a lie, he had been useful, he'd been smitten and spared her life. Then done everything he could to make sure she didn't die.] My mother liked pink and chocolate too much. I work as a governess -- a live in tutor of sorts to a boy and girl. [So as human as she could make herself sound, and really none of it was untrue either. Just not all of it.]

And yet you have such a great gift. There is more to you than you would have me know. [Another little chuckle] But very well. You may keep your secrets. I will not hold it against you.

It'd probably be hypocritical if you did. [there's a all too sharp look. She might stick her foot in her mouth, come to the wrong assumptions -- but just because this elf wasn't a monster, didn't mean she wasn't any more of an dangerous enchantress.]

[Galadriel actually looks rather pleased with that. An observant one. She liked that.] That it would.

[Oh dear, that wasn't intended. Really wasn't intended. Usually people hated when she was too aware.] Well. I'll keep my eye out for forests and the like.
