[She looks squarely at the camera. A very nonhuman face: gold fur, slitted eyes, and four large pointed ears. There seems to be some recent damage with small scrapes, the larger ones covered by bandages.] My appearance. Do you feel fear? Of unfamiliarity, or recognition.

If it is the former, then you need not tell me.

[A pause, as she seems unsure about the next topic. Her speech is slower, cautious and reserved.] Many species, many homeworlds. Many opportunities. My search is ongoing.

What is… expected of your species? Your gender. Your— caste. Your role, by design. Do you fulfill it, or do you rebel?

I'm not a full god though technically speaking and I never asked to be born as one. It's never easy explaining this to anyone how my world works.

It's just how fate was weaved out my current reincarnation for my soul. A god, in my world at least, is nothing more of a title and occupation given from one deity to another with more benefits. If I ever become a god, that's only part of me and not all of me. I'm still a guy who wants to protect those who are closest to me.

"God" is a social status in your culture. [She regains her neutral expression, though her tone is short.] And an innate caste?

Deities yes, but gods are a sub-category not everyone in this "caste" achieves. Even we die and are reincarnated to whatever life the gods of judgement see fit. I wouldn't say it's a completely innate caste since there are exceptions. Souls sometimes have long periods of time when they await to be reborn so it's not often someone finds a way to improve themselves and possibly achieve the qualifications to move up in status. My own fiancee is an example of that actually.
