That was a mess, wasn't it? The monsters, I mean. If things get that bad around here often, I can understand why you'd feel the need to bring me here. A world with no sun can never prosper.

Unfortunately, I'm not really in much of a position to help out at the moment.

[He pauses for a moment, putting on a pair of red-tinted sunglasses.]

You caught me at a bad time. I'm still on vacation, I'm afraid.

[Annnd feed off, yo'.]

[If you happen to out and about today, you'll mostly definitely come across this guy. Except it seems his talk of being on vacation was completely serious, since wherever it is you run into him he's sitting in a worn out looking deck chair with his hands behind his head and enjoying the sub-par weather.

Seriously guys. Vacation time. Important.]

[Not far from the deck chair, a small creature - well, small by Byakuya's standards, it still looks like a raptor - starts getting closer. Except it looks like it's running from something.

And then, a man - it looks like a man - ... appears. There's a 'bzzt' sound, and before there was no one, and now there is this guy, wearing a black kimono, a black hakama, a white haori with the japanese number 6 in a diamond shape between his shoulder blade, and a strange hairstyle.

He's also holding a katana, and uses it to properly slice up the beast, moving around it too fast for the eyes to see. One second he's in front, the next in the back, and his strokes are way too fast.

When he's done, in about five seconds, the beast is dead, and he shakes the blood from his blade before sheathing it.

Just cleaning up the last of the critters. All in a day's work. But when he feels the energy coming from what appears to be a human, he turns around, just to check.]

[He didn't seem to realize the creature had been nearby in the first place, but the truth of the matter is he's just arrogant enough to believe it wasn't a threat.

Besides, everything worked out. Someone else took care of it, so he felt there really was no cause for alarm. Instead, he merely calls out to the Shinigami from where he's sitting, not moving even to look at him. His tone of voice is calm as ever.]

Is something the matter?

[Byakuya sizes up the other man. It's his second time here slicing up somethign while someone is just doing nothing in the background. He doesn't acre about doing the job alone, but this doesn't help his feeling that humans really do have a death wish.]

I believe everything is in order now.

[And while his words sound Japanese, they also sound like something right out of a samurai period drama.]

[Oh? Well, the familiarity of the language is nice. He'll match Byakuya language-wise, then. No point in not doing so, after all.

He gets up out of his chair, turning to face Byakuya if only because this guy looks a little less modern compared to everyone else he's run into.]

Clean up duty, then. I didn't know there were enough monsters left to worry about.

That was the last one. It will not interrupt your... 'vacation time'.

[This is said in a tone that could mean both 'what is this vacation you speak of?' or 'you slackers are always on vacation at a convenient time.']

[He just smiles at that.]

Well with the last one taken care of, maybe you should consider one yourself.

I do not have that luxury.

[And obviously never has had it.]

[Honestly, a few months earlier and he might have agreed with Byakuya on that.]

Why's that?

I have work to do.

[And a commander's duty only ends after his or her subordinate's duties end as well.]

Some of us would like to get out of here in a reasonably short time.

I was under the impression that in between these missions they want to send us on, there isn't much we can do aside when things like this happen.

Am I mistaken?

I do not plan on trusting any of these poeple with returning us to our world, or to work with them blindly either.
