That was a mess, wasn't it? The monsters, I mean. If things get that bad around here often, I can understand why you'd feel the need to bring me here. A world with no sun can never prosper.

[He pauses for a moment, putting on a pair of red-tinted sunglasses.]

You caught me at a bad time. I'm still on vacation, I'm afraid.

[If you happen to out and about today, you'll mostly definitely come across this guy. Except it seems his talk of being on vacation was completely serious, since wherever it is you run into him he's sitting in a worn out looking deck chair with his hands behind his head and enjoying the sub-par weather.

You're going to catch a cold out here!

[ Asami approaches with her last bit of shopping for a long, long time, because both her wallet and her desire for a particular expense demand it. But it's worth it, the bag of cosmetics in the same hand that carries a tea, and the other hand holds an umbrella over her head. She stops by the guy vegging out like he's enjoying a warm afternoon in the sun.

It might be a little weird, and so a cause for concern. She follows up her statement when she's a bit closer. ]

Are you doing all right?

[The concerned tone definitely surprises him, but he doesn't really show it. He remains seated in the casual posture he'd been in the entire time, tossing his head to the side Asami is standing.]

If it was too cold, I wouldn't be out here, would I?

I guess not.

[ She says it with a light-hearted chuckle. ]

Are you sure you don't want some hot tea or anything?

Hm. Now that you mention it, tea sounds good.

[Though, again, he thinks she's awfully considerate for a stranger. He pushes himself out of his chair, standing.]

Although going somewhere with more than one chair might be a better idea.

[ Lighting up at that, Asami takes a step back for him while moving the umbrella over his head. ]

Alright, I'm glad to hear it! My name's Asami.

[He offers a nod of his head, then looks around at the...well, the remains of the area.]

You probably know the area better than I do; is there anywhere around here that isn't so ruined?

Well, I've only been here for a few days myself, but there are a couple of shops down that way getting back up on their feet.

[ She gestures in the direction from which she came and begins to step out. ]

You seem pretty comfortable for a newcomer, though.

[He follows after her, his posture while walking as relaxed and easy-going as he looked to be in his seat a moment ago.]

There's no point in stressing out, though I can't imagine it's as easy for everyone as it is for me.

Still feeling anxious, yourself?

A little bit. It'll take me a while to get used to this place, and I'm still hoping that I won't have to. I wish I had your nerves.

[ She pulls up the hood over her hair and offers the umbrella by moving it towards his hand. ]

[He takes a hold of the umbrella and raises it overhead, shrugging.]

You have things to do back home? Or is the change of scenery just uncomfortable.

A little bit of both. What's home like for you?

[Not really a lie; had he been brought even a month into his life sooner, he could've said otherwise.]

I'd taken a trip to France and, well...here I am.

[chittybang]

Never heard of it.

[ She shrugs it off and begins to slow down her steps near a patched up door. A makeshift sign reads for a teashop. ]

Here we are. The selection isn't as big as they say it usually is for obvious reasons, but hot tea is hot tea if you ask me.

Hm. It's definitely better than none at all.

[He holds the door open, remaining stood to the side to let her go through first. Manners and such.]

[ She thanks him under her breath and slips on through, taking off the hood of her parka while she's at it. Her free hand works on untucking her hair from beneath the fabric. ]

You go ahead and order, I'll pick a seat. Hope you don't mind if we sit inside.
