001 - Video

[The video feed showed a young woman in a rather odd dress. And there was something else odd about her, other than her strange taste in hats - she was currently sitting on what seemed to be a floating rock. ]

This thing working? Good, good. I suppose these earth-crawling humans CAN do things the kappa can't.

Introductions are in order, aren't they? I'm Tenshi Hinanai - you probably won't have heard of me until now, but you probably soon will. Looks like the fools running this place recruited me, without even asking me.

[Strangely, she did not seem perturbed – she seemed rather cheerful about it, actually, the tone of her voice was similar to someone who just got an adorable kitten as a gift. ]

During some sort of attack, no less, it seems. That won’t make me suspicious at all now will it? [She gave a short, amused chuckle] Well, things being as they are, I’m sure you’ll be happy to share information with me. Like, for example, how those enemy weirdos fight and what you did so far to fight them.

You surely did something, right?

[She's floating on a rock. Jason stares for a moment before realizing what she asked and speaks]

Well we tried stabbing them and setting them on fire but neither were really very effective.

Really? Well, about time someone changed that.

Why are you ...typing? [She paused for a moment before saying the word, showing she wasn't that familiar with computer terms and needed to think before remembering it]

Isn't that annoying? You don't need to be scared of me.

Have you tried covering them in rocks, or shooting at them with things? That gotta work.

Come on, I thought you humans were supposed to be a clever bunch.

They fight as one unit, as if with one mind. They move with purpose and no hesitation and by adapting to what is tried against them. They are the same and thus meant to bring fear to all that oppose them.

Really? Interesting! Maybe they ARE one being. I once fought a oni that could turn into lots of smaller versions of themselves, all acting seperately, maybe it's like that.
Sounds like you do have pretty interesting foes here, that's good.

Any reason you forgot to switch the screen on, though? It's not working, just hearing your voice.

They have a different smell from one another so I do not think it is that. It is more that they are well-trained to act as one unit.

Interesting way of knowing, though. You don't happen to be a dog person? It'd explain your keen sense of smell and fear of being seen.

I find it more convenient for a number of reasons. Fear has nothing to do with it.

I don't use guns and if setting them on fire didn't work what makes you think a bullet will anyway?

I wasn't talking about guns, I meant magical ones, obviously. They usually work even when other things don't.

[Alas, Tenshi was wrong there, but she didn't know that at this time.]

And yes, I'm not human, of course. I'm a celestial - I think you earth-crawling humans would call that an angel or a tennin, depending on where you're from.

Oh, I will, be sure of that. Do they do anything particularly dangerous other than shrug off attacks from mortals?

That convenience you mentioned sure hasn't much to do with avoiding that people know who you are now, huh?

[Tenshi, coming from a canon that had actual dog people, actually seemed to think of him as one of those, due to the smell thing he described. She had, alas, taken him a bit too literally.]

[ and on comes the video, showing this guy but sans most clothing and just a towel, his hair wet and his skin flushed like he had just climbed out of a tub. ]

Well, you aren't a dog person - all you wanted to hide was that you had bathed recently. That's...pretty boring a revelation.

[She seemed more disappointed than anything else. Naked people didn't do that much for her, and she completely glossed over that normally, humans don't really show things like that to complete strangers.]

I really had hoped for something more interesting...

Most people would find it offensive to talk to a nearly naked man.

[ Arches a finely shaped eyebrow at her and then shrugs, setting the tablet down so he can go back to what he was doing - namely rubbing body cream into his skin. ]

Some may find it arousing. But you are not human enough to care about that, now are you?

Oh, that's true. I'm a celestial. A holy being, a tennin or tenbu in human language. I'm above such matters, basically.

[She was, evidently, not above pride, though]

You do look fine for a human, I guess, if you're someone who is into that sort of thing. Not much of a fighter though, I take it?

[A line like that was taunting to a lot of men, in her experience, so she had to try it.]

I suppose you would be, mm?

[ An amused chuckle and a shake of his head, fingers digging a little in his lean leg muscle as he works the cream into his skin. ]

I am a lover, not a fighter. I do not care to step in harm's way. I leave such matters to those that do enjoy fighting.

Oh, yes. Never saw much in men, really.

[She shrugged. And then continued to talk, proving she wasn't that good at seeing through people.]

Lover, huh? Shame. No point in even trying to pick a fight with you, then. What's with you lover types always not being much into fighting? It's a pain, you know.

Everyone has their own tastes.

[ Switches legs. Nope, he isn't trying to impress, he was just following his normal post-shower routine. ]

Our energies are more focused on pleasing the softer side of life than the harsher side. [ If only she knew that he had other interests besides being a lover. He smiles at the thought. ] You may have more luck with the military-minded individuals than with me if a fight is all you seek. Or you could see the men in black.

Are you trying to seduce me? That's soo not gonna work.

[She didn't know he wasn't, after all. But then, she didn't even suspect what he truly was - she had passed him off as a human who focused on flirty things.]

I...see. It really sounds boring, you know. But good suggestion. How DO you find those 'men in black'? They don't seem to be around anymore.

Me? Why would I bother? You clearly have little use for a lover of any kind.

[ Finishes and stretches before he takes off the towel and tosses it over the tablet. Have a nice view of off-white fluffy cotton for the next few minutes! ]

Ah, I suppose they must have left. How dull of them. I suppose they had more pressing concerns than a group of transports that really are less than eager to be here.

Pretty much, that's true.

[Tenshi didn't mind the towel too much, she had mostly been interested to see who he was for...different reasons, after all. Not nudity in particular!]

Shame, really. Seems they mostly left exactly the day I arrived. The people here could at least have the decency to abduct me one day earlier...

So far, they don't seem interested in killing us. Merely chipping us.
