My name is Adam Warlock. I'm usually an expert on temporal phenomenon, but in the last two missions I've seen timelines being altered with apparently none of the consequences. Though there are many variable that could be considered a 'consequence', it's still not what I was expecting.

It's distressing to know that what I thought I knew does not apply here, or that the laws here are different. But seeing as my meta-talents are working more or less the same, I think it's the former.

I'm looking to understand how the Initiative works with timelines. If anyone has any information, it is much appreciated.

Are the laws of the universe itself really not... universal?

[awarlock]

In my experience, I know that it doesn't have to be. Laws within a universe can change momentarily before it collapses. And laws between universes are most likely to be different.

[bratworth]

'Collapse'... Er. Does it do that often?

[awarlock]

I would think once is too often, so yes.

[bratworth]

You've experienced such a clash before?

[awarlock]

I've experienced multiple disruptions to my own timeline. But I have -- had a special position in my universe. I'm not sure that is as guaranteed here.

[bratworth]

Indeed. So just what was this 'position'?

[awarlock]

I [was god once might not be the best thing to tell strangers] was free from all destiny, which made me a valuable chess piece to others. But that was a long time ago.

[bratworth]

Isn't every individual 'free from destiny'?

[awarlock]

That would be a generalization or an assumption. But there are always people bound by one thing or another.

[bratworth]

And what would these things be?
