001 // audio

My name is Adam Warlock. I'm usually an expert on temporal phenomenon, but in the last two missions I've seen timelines being altered with apparently none of the consequences. Though there are many variable that could be considered a 'consequence', it's still not what I was expecting.

It's distressing to know that what I thought I knew does not apply here, or that the laws here are different. But seeing as my meta-talents are working more or less the same, I think it's the former.

I'm looking to understand how the Initiative works with timelines. If anyone has any information, it is much appreciated.

[ audio is pointless since he'll know who's on the other end anyway, but details. ]

You would find this to be the most interesting part of the entire 'sucked into another universe' thing. [ a beat ] What are the chances of us not remembering the way things used to be?

[ dual sets of memories are a bitch, she's just saying. ]

Was sort of wondering about all that, myself.

Seems a bit reckless, doesn't it?

What consequences were you expecting?

Perhaps we have changed naught, and have merely ensured that events played out as the Intitiative has already written.

What kind of consequences are their supposed to be? According to what you were thinking it should be.

You are familiar with time travel, then.

That sounds good for us, but... is that not happening a good or a bad thing?

What other consequences were you expecting?

Yeah, I can name a few myself.

[ She's just saying. And no, she's not going to - he has an annoying habit of being stupid. ]

Great. Because we all needed more problems with timelines and flarking around with them.

You and me both.

I'm a transport, but I'm also a research associate in the Hold. I took up the job for that very reason; to get a better understanding of just what the hell they were doing to causality as I knew it.

So far... it's given me only theories, but some are more sound than others.

Same, for sure. Doubt they'll be all that keen on sharing, but that doesn't mean it's impossible.

So you manage this sort of thing day in and day out? Sounds taxing.

If Kang rolls in, I am leaving.

[He's being flippant on the surface, but you all remember what happened the last time the timelines started to fragment, right?]

Yes, because that worked out so well last time. But if you've found a better option and aren't sharing I'll cut it out of you.

[ Something about time travel and giant fissures in space/time and Adam turning evil? Some people missed out on your fun little field trip to the future, Quill. ]

What would be needed of the catalyst?

If that is what is happening, I very much doubt they know they are doing it.
