[The video starts up and you get a blonde with an upticked mouth looking at you.]

So everyone got these new tablets, but teaching us how to use them was just one step they weren't willing to take. I figure I could step in here and offer to teach the basics to anyone who was having a problem using theirs.

I'll be at the *insert random place here idk* for most of today, so if anyone wants to stop by for a lesson, I'll be there. [Grins a little wiser] I hope ya'll are good, attentive students so I don't regret this later.

[Polite talk unexpected. No one ever asks him that question.]

Uh... Better, yeah. What about you?

[He'd expected to just hand over the quarter and send the guy on his way, but now he steps aside to wave Blaine on in.]

[He can see the surprise but doesn't react to it. Jesse is in a pretty... brisk business so anything other than that throws people off. Blaine enjoys rocking the boat. He steps inside.] Thanks.

Been doing alright, considering. This place is going to get really boring quick. [Reaches into his back pocket to pull out his tablet, turn it off, then drops it on the couch beside where he's making preparations to sit.]

[Jesse closes the door, locks it, and latches it. He doesn't want the girls to just walk in on a deal. As he walks back to the couch, he tosses the quarter baggie onto the coffee table. The rocks inside it are beautiful, clear blue crystals.]

Ain't gonna be boring now.

[strategic_guile]

[Ahh, the paranoia of a drug dealer. Just like home. He plops onto the couch and reaches out for the bag.] May I?

[Upon consent he'll pick it up and examine them through the bag. He lifts his chin in admiration and palms it, running the excess bag material between his fingers without touching the rocks inside.]

How good a chemist are you?

It's yours, man. Be my guest and hit it, if you want.

[The table's scuffed enough from Jesse's own glass-breaking and line-snorting. He doesn't expect that his roommates have noticed, but a jibhead certainly would. Meanwhile, Jesse sits back and gets comfortable.]

That's 96.2% pure, my friend. Best in the U.S. and cleaner than anything you ever seen coming outta Mexico by far. So yeah, you could say I'm a pretty damn good chemist.

[He grins, taking another good look at it and gives a soft whistle. He really is good, then, if his boast is true. Blaine tucks it into his jacket pocket, making sure not to flash the gun at his shoulder which is an easy, ingrained habit.]

Cocky. [He snorts, but not like it's a bad thing.] I'm looking for something far more explosive, though.

[Jesse shrugs at being called "cocky". The product speaks for itself, really, and there's no disputing that he's the second best meth cook in North America - possibly in the world. But beyond assuring someone that he hasn't just given them garbage, he doesn't care about the title anymore. Not enough to brag further.]

What're you looking for?

[strategic_guile]

Explosives. Compact, portable, easy to handle and'll only go off when you want them to. [Leans back and crosses his legs at the ankles, fingers steepling over his stomach. Very relaxed. Business time.]

What're you trying to blow up?

[strategic_guile]

Not your apartment. [Amused smile]

[hostage]

I wasn't worried. I'm asking 'cause I need to know how big the boom oughta be.

[strategic_guile]

Something mild. Like a good ole fashioned grenade.

[hostage]

How come you don't just grab some grenades outta the armory? I'm just saying... 'cause whatever I give you, it's gonna be more unstable than something like that.

[strategic_guile]

Because whatever I grab out of the armory can probably be traced, and I don't want all of my firepower to be in their hands. [Shrugs] This isn't an express order, anyway. I just need to know I have a back up.

[hostage]

You might wanna find somebody else, then.

[strategic_guile]

[Brow arch] Because you don't want to do it or you aren't reliable?

[hostage]

'cause I'm cooking in their labs with their supplies. 'cause I'm their chemist.

[strategic_guile]

[Pause; then he lets out a short laugh] Should've known. They let you fix your stuff in their labs, too? Or is it on the side?

[hostage]

It's what I'm there for. I cook them some glass, I get to keep some for myself.

[strategic_guile]

[He looks thoughtful. He was kind of hoping that wasn't the case.] You know what they're gonna do with it?

[[Mind if I friend you on plurk?]]

I don't ask.

[strategic_guile]

[Didn't think so. He uncrosses his legs, moving to stand while picking up his tablet and turning it back on; shrugs his shoulders to settled his jacket and the holster underneath.]

Ah, well. Thanks for this.

[hostage]

[Jesse rises too, moving to the door to unlock it. (Such a process, really.)]

Enjoy it. Probably the most fun you'll have around here without killing people.

[He chuckles at that, letting Jesse deal with the locks.] I prefer sex. One little death at a time.

[Gives a wave.] See ya later.

[He gives a sage nod, a wave, and disappears back into the apartment to finish his dinner.]
