So, what with how, uh, dreary it's been around here -- assuming that it's actually any drearier than usual, I guess -- I thought we could maybe use some lightening up. And what with Halloween approaching, I think a celebration of quality cinema is in order. [ He says "Halloween" as though it is actually slightly painful to refer to the date by that name. ] I took the liberty of delving into the Initiative's archives for these classics, and they're all on a shelf in the front of the library now, if anyone is interested.
[ He turns the camera to display the shelf in question. It is full of VHS tapes, bearing such titles as Dawn of the Dead (1978), Dracula 2000, Howling V, Sometimes They Come Back... Again, and Tales from the Crypt Presents: Bordello of Blood. None of the films were released later than the year 2000, they all seem to feature supernatural creatures prominently, and most of them are, frankly, pretty awful. ]
I'm not... exactly familiar with all of them. [ He holds up a copy of 1992's Buffy the Vampire Slayer starring Kristy Swanson. ] I mean, this looks a lot like Muffy the Werewolf Slayer? I'm not uh... sure if it's the same thing?
Anyway. You're welcome, Exsilium.

[Shrug.]
--Wait, no, we swung by after that mess in the Negative Zone, but just long enough to warn the local heroes.

Pretty much, yeah.
[It's why he barely even registered the ears, man.]

My name's Pete. Pete Quill.

[Good luck getting a rise out of this one with juvenile behavior, Artemis. You should meet his team.]

[He's asking this as an entirely normal question. Multiple universes, ain't no thang.]

Yeah, most of the world is humans. I'm taking liberty of being able to show my true form here, to be honest.

[You're lucky you're not green or he'd be thinking "Skrull," bro.
...Okay, fine, he's thinking Skrull anyway.]

[He knows nothing about magic except that Adam can do it, it's scary, and it will backfire on you horribly, but he accepts its existence as uncontroversial.]

[He doesn't seem like he'd care, either.]

[The number of things Pete doesn't know about Earth is surprising for someone who was born there.]

Where I hang out, I'm the alien.
[Well, half alien. He's half Spartoi, which is one of the well-respected races out there in space.]
