[Lena is sitting cross-legged on her bed with a sword balanced across her knees. She scowls down at it]

Why are these...apartments so white? [The way she says 'apartment' makes it clear the word is unfamiliar] It's almost enough to give a person snow blindness.

I need to get some air. Is there anyone out there with some familiarity in using a sword? Or...who doesn't mind facing off with someone using one, for that matter. I need practice against more than just people using the same weapon as me. [She shoves a hand back through her hair] Especially in this place.

[She rolls her neck] I'll be in the training room for the rest of the afternoon. You're more than welcome to stop by.

[She stares at him] Why on earth would I expect that? [Hi she comes for fantasy gender equality land]

[ He tilts his head at her a little ] Are women often permitted combat training in your land?

About as often as men are permitted to become mages. Woman have advantages in one area, men have advantages in the other. It doesn't exclude either sex from being capable of one or the other, though.

Mages. [ Staaare. ] And have you had any training in such arts?

[choseherownway]

Do you think I would be a blacksmith's apprentice if I did? [She wriggles her fingers at him] I'm about as magic as a plank of wood.

Fantastic. [ Back to chipper as per usual. ] Your kingdom continues to be vastly different from my own.

In some ways, perhaps. I'll see you in the Training Room, then. [SWITCH TO ACTION]

ACTION!

[shutupmerlin]

[ Arthur arrives fifteen or so minutes later, ducking his head as he steps into the training room ]

Milady?

[choseherownway]

[Lena's clothes are already sweat-streaked from her earlier bouts. She glances over at Arthur when he speaks, and purses her lips slightly] I'm not a lady, much less yours. Lena is fine.

[ His hands go up in a 'whoa, okay, not even attacking you here' sort of manner ] Merely a term of respect. My mistake in assuming you'd want that.
