[Lena is sitting cross-legged on her bed with a sword balanced across her knees. She scowls down at it]

Why are these...apartments so white? [The way she says 'apartment' makes it clear the word is unfamiliar] It's almost enough to give a person snow blindness.

I need to get some air. Is there anyone out there with some familiarity in using a sword? Or...who doesn't mind facing off with someone using one, for that matter. I need practice against more than just people using the same weapon as me. [She shoves a hand back through her hair] Especially in this place.

[And, indeed, he's soon waiting for her near the training rooms, leaning against a wall, his own sword held in one hand.]

[It's only once she gets there that she realises she has no idea what this person is supposed to look like. Her head swivels around, searching for someone with a sword instead; she starts visibly when she spots him, but recovers quickly]

Another elf?

[he lifts Byfrost--his ridiculous sword--in greeting, but he's unsure of her remark. He hasn't seen anyone even remotely like him here.]

What do you mean by 'another'?

[She lifts a hand to touch one of her ears, indicating that his are pointy] There's a woman wandering around. Reya? [A beat] I'm sorry, you are the person I was talking to about practising swordwork with, right?

[deadelfwalking]

[Oh, Reya. She's only a half-elf, psh. Still, he nods in recognition.]

She has some elven blood in her, yes, though it is not kin to mine. [he nods at Byfrost.] And I am. My name is Koltira Deathweaver.

[choseherownway]

[She stretches a little] It's not my area of expertise. There are no elves in my world. [Her eyes raise slightly at 'Daethweaver'] I'm Lena.

[And then she pauses, eyeing his blade. When she speaks, there's a dry humour to her tone] I'm good, but I'm by no means an expert. I'd prefer it if you could avoid chopping me in half.

[deadelfwalking]

I see.

[his gaze follows hers, and he grins.] I would never, my lady. Shall we? [he gestures to the training room with a slight bow.]
