[The feed turns on to a pair of large golden eyes. They pull back just far enough to reveal a dark-skinned face framed in black hair--a woman who looks to be in her mid to late twenties. A large bowl--about the size of a mixing bowl--rests on the seat next to her, the tips of a pair of chopsticks barely visible over the rim; she’d wasted no time raiding the fridge after her arrival]
[Frowning, she reaches out to hit a key on the netbook, clearly not yet at ease with her new communication device.]
They could have better explained how to use this... [She mutters, giving the computer a narrow look as she decides whether or not it’s actually working. Finally, she shrugs, figuring she might as well try.]
I assume everyone got the same story upon arrival. I can’t help but wonder at the fact that people with the power to pull us from our homes without warning aren’t capable of winning a war without our help.
[Her voice is even, with a clear sardonic edge that suggests she’s not quite ready to jump in and be a team player just yet. Still, she’s not rushing to judgment just yet, preferring to gauge the attitudes of others presumably in her situation.]
So, tell me--assuming you all cooperate with our [abductors] hosts--how did they convince you to do so?
[pauses]
And on the off chance there’s anyone here from Seireitei or Karakura, I’d appreciate you contacting me.
[Frowns again, and reaches out to tap the screen.]
Shit, this thing isn’t on, is it?
[She sighs and stands up; might as well go out in her cat form and gather information that way, until she can figure out how to work this stupid thing.]
[That decided, she hooks her thumbs into her waistband and draws her pants off in one smooth motion.]
[Luckily for those more squeamish, her shirt hits the tops of her thighs, keeping this PG-13]

[loudly]
[then turns to go back to her room]

When one has asked for one's oldest friend to take time out of his busy schedule to assist her, she could already have the door open to him.
[action]
When one decides to be annoying, he's implicitly accepting the consequences.
[action]
My dear Yoruichi-san, I am quite sure I don't know what you're implying~
[action]
And I'm just as sure you do, but no matter.
[Looks up at him, also more relieved to have him here than she can say.]
That didn't take long. Were you close?
[action]
[A beat.]
...Of course it does help that my room just so happens to be that one there.
[And to emphasise this point, he gestures at the very room next door.]
[action]
That close? Well, that'll make mealtimes easier.
[Because clearly she's not cooking. Then she sighs, figuring she ought to get down to business.]
I don't suppose you've been able to find out much more than I have? I know it's only been a few hours. [She's assumed they arrived at the same time, unaware of the time difference between them.]
[action]
[He bops her on the tip of her nose with his fingertip.]
From what I have been able to tell in the 24 hours that I have been here... we are very, very much not in Karakura-cho anymore, Yoruichi-san.
[action]
What do you mean, 24 hours? It's been 2, 3 hours tops.

Though perhaps you ought to jog my memory, what were we doing on your this morning?
no subject
I think you were just pissed because Tessai was busy and you had to get out of bed to take care of it.
no subject
[And here's a slow, private smile and a gleam in his eye.]
Well staying in bed was a very, very appealing option, can you really blame me for that?
no subject
[Her mouth quirks up in a half-grin]
But focus. So was that yesterday morning for you?

[sighs]
For the time being, then, I guess we just need to see what we can find out. Get some intel, and start learning our way around the city.

[And use it to send them back; he's just finished fighting one war, it's not top of his to-do list to be enlisted in another right off the back of it.]
Did you take them up on their offer of a weapon?
no subject
Hm? Oh, no.
[She shakes her head; she may not carry her zanpakutou, but she's not looking to replace it.]
It just wouldn't feel right. It'd be one thing if it wasn't sentient, but...
[She trails off, knowing he'll understand]
no subject
Of course. Her Highness was most put out at the very idea of me accepting such a generous gift.
