( When Charles appears on the video screen, he looks happier than ever. Well, happier than... is standard practise, for this place, and especially given his recent interpersonal shenanigans. Still, he's smiling. )

Hello, everyone. I've rather a large request—I will understand if the need does not suit you—but I do hope that you'll hear me out.

I would like to establish a school, here in Exsilium. It would be for everyone, of all ages. I've received permission, and salary funding, from the Initiative, to gather both teachers and students to... ah, well. ( Charles' expression shifts to an apologetic one. ) To help me refurbish this building and make it a proper educational institution.

In the interest of full disclosure, I will let you all know that I've acquired an old building. It's not in the best of shape, and will need to be fixed up—that is where you come in. Soon, I will need teachers; students, too. But for now—for now, all I need is some volunteers to turn this place into a functional establishment.

( Charles presses a button on his netbook, and this picture appears. )

Scott and I were co-headmasters until the school was disbanded. Your counterpart was missing at the time we took over, and later was...pursuing other matters.

[Everyone was mad at him over the Vulcan thing and so he went off to space to fix (that particular) fuckup, but it took the Inhumans and the Kree to actually do it.]

( Charles watches her curiously and then smiles, though he looks somewhat disappointed at the news of disbandment. )

Destroyed once too often for anyone's taste. Logan rebuilt the place eventually, but the majority of us have relocated to Utopia.

( Charles is just watching her, before he's making a note to ask Erik about all of these things. What the hell are these technicalities anyway? What is even happening. )

Utopia. ( He kind of, sort of, doesn't like the sound of that. Nope, he definitely doesn't. )

After Genosha and M-Day, we needed a place we could defend from humans. It's in San Francisco Bay. An island. We control all approaches.

[The future for mutants is actively horrific. Sorry, Charles.]

( Defend from humans. That takes a while to sink in for Charles, and his entire expression is shifting to a slightly distant one. Even in all of his time spent away from his own world, even knowing they were so different, it still pained him to hear such a thing. )

The 20th century was the first time an imagined Golden Age was ever in the future, instead of an idealized past. Crueler that way, I think.

I would agree. It's disheartening in a way I can't really describe—to feel so lost in a strange world like this without the hope that those worlds I am most familiar with would have carried on to—to my idealized future.
