Hi everyone. I've been thinking. If we're all going to be stuck here for a long time, I figured I should find out everyone's birthday and if they have a favorite meal or type of cake. If you'd please respond to this message with your name, birthday, and a little bit about you, I'd really appreciate it!

On that note, I was thinking. If people keep turning up, we should have some sort of monthly event so everyone can get to know each other, introduce ourselves and catch up and celebrate one another's birthdays. Like a potluck, maybe? There are too many people to do do this at my apartment, so I'd need to figure out a spot. What do you think?

Oh, by the way. I'm Mahdi. I like cats, singing, and cooking. My birthday is Valentine's Day!

I'm not sure if he'd like it here, though. The apartments are nicer here.

I doubt many people would like it here, but I would've expected that nicer apartments would be considered one of the benefits.

He probably wouldn't care, as long as I wasn't always bugging him and I made him meals and he could... I don't know, wear fashionable clothes or whatever it is he does when he's not working.

Not really. [frowning] Because of me, my partner lost his job and we had to go on the run. He might not have been well-liked or anything, and it might've been a bad job anyway, but... it was still his life, and my getting involved ruined it.

Even if that's the case, he's stayed with you after that, right? [ WELL HE'S ASSUMING ANYWAY ] Frankly - while there's benefits to moving in pairs, going on the run with another person can be cumbersome and suspicious. Logically, the only reason to do so would be concern for the other person's safety.

Since I don't know your situation, I won't comment on it - but unless he's said these things himself, I wouldn't be so hasty to make him sound that hard on you.

Oh, he definitely calls me an idiot all the time! [He's so cheerful about that.] It's okay, though. I can put up with it, he's letting me stay on his couch and he helps me find work. He's really a great guy... just not the type of person who wants anyone to know about it.
