Hi everyone. I've been thinking. If we're all going to be stuck here for a long time, I figured I should find out everyone's birthday and if they have a favorite meal or type of cake. If you'd please respond to this message with your name, birthday, and a little bit about you, I'd really appreciate it!

On that note, I was thinking. If people keep turning up, we should have some sort of monthly event so everyone can get to know each other, introduce ourselves and catch up and celebrate one another's birthdays. Like a potluck, maybe? There are too many people to do do this at my apartment, so I'd need to figure out a spot. What do you think?

Oh, by the way. I'm Mahdi. I like cats, singing, and cooking. My birthday is Valentine's Day!

I do tend to make lots of friends, but sometimes people get annoyed with me, too, so I'm used to going it alone.

Yeah, well, people can be asses most of the time. I wouldn't let it get to you; better off without bad company, anyway.

They can be, but it's usually because they're hurt, or sad. I don't want to turn my back on people just because they can't express themselves well. [Mahdi seems a little sad, though.] Considering we're all stuck here together, we might not have a chance to choose who we're better off without.

Huh. You've got a point. We don't really get to pick and choose who we keep around in a prison like this. And...I guess so long as it doesn't wreck all your carefully laid plans, it can't hurt to try, can it?

Still, I hope this lot appreciates what it means to have a little optimism around.
