○ 001 Transmission
[The video flicks on, revealing a light blue visor that was currently taking up most of the screen's display. Something that lasted for about, oh, two seconds before the feed was flicking on and off a couple of times. Almost like the user was making sure he had the right button and was, in fact, broadcasting to... whomever else was able to receive this.]
... [Tap, tap of his finger directly on the screen, before the stranger would finally pull away to a reasonable distance. Revealing both the upper part of his armor, and the city around him.] This working?
Good. [An inhale, bracing himself.] I need information.
Has there been any other soldiers here with armor like mine? Tend to call themselves Helljumpers, Freelancer or Spartans. Last ones are usually big. [Lifting his hand way above his head to emphasis this, before casually letting it fall back down.] Also would appreciate any further advice or information about this place.
Thank you. [And with that, the transmission cuts off.]

text! (because lmao he's done talking for now.)
That's two questions. [...] But they're BDUs. Kind of high-tech armor used in both space and ground combat.
Why?

Sorry, looks like you're SOL. The heavy armor back home looks similar but no one I know is running around wearing the stuff. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for giants stomping around in it, though.
How much filling in do you need?
text;
Thanks. Appreciate it. [Then a span of silence towards the question, obviously thinking, before he's typing again.] Just the basics. Things that would be common sense for those who've been here longer, but not so much for the newly arrived. Threats, places to avoid, things not to do.
Anything useful. [Mainly because he didn't trust that the "greeter" told him everything. Call him paranoid.]
video;
Yeah, no problem. ['Basics,' huh? Joker shifts just a little, getting himself comfortable. This is gonna be long.]
Right, well, for starters the Initiative isn't telling you everything. Surprising, I know. I haven't been here as long as some of the others but the general consensus is that our evil overlords aren't much better than the guys we're fighting. Keeping their own people from occasionally going rogue and messing with us puppets isn't exactly priority one on their list.
As far as things not to do, killing people would be a nice start. I haven't seen soldiers or security running the place but generally, that's still a thing we don't do here. Leaving the island is also pretty frowned upon. There's some kind of blockade set up, probably to keep us from defecting. If you try to go far North enough, you stand a pretty high chance of getting caught by United Earth so I wouldn't recommend doing that. Otherwise, you're pretty much good.

Sending a video call.]
There you are.
Can't say I've seen anyone looking like that, yet. While we are looking for people, have you met anyone calling themselves action scientists?
They may or may not be discussing how traveling through time and space effects hair growth.
text;
Negative. First I've heard of them. [Pause.] But I'll keep a look out for anyone going by that title.
[Has no idea what 'action scientist' are, though, much less why they'd be interested in studying that. Why are most scientists so weird? :/]
text;;
Switching over to text, not questioning why this guy did so.]
If you do, tell them Robo is looking for them and that they are not to touch anything. Anything. There are seriously not enough underscores I could put under that word.
Oh, and if you meet someone named Jenkins, just tell them Robo is in unit 204 and don't make eye contact.

I haven't seen that particular type of armor, no.
As for your other question, there were a bunch of new Transports lately so it seems to be more chaotic than normal. Can't say for certain because I was one of them; no basis for comparison. Have you found your housing number yet?
[text]
That's too bad. [Bit disappointing, but so far that seems to be the common thing people are telling him.]
Still useful information. An influx of new arrivals could mean something's about to go down, if it's not a normal thing around here. [Which is just him being cautious, but that's kind of how he is. Also why he has yet to actually step foot inside the apartment buildings, whoops.] And I know the number. Just haven't gone to check the room itself out yet.

Don't worry, quarters are actually pretty generous. So what about that suit? I'm curious. Is that military-issue, or...?

But thanks. Seems to be the general message I've gotten from people here so far.

That's some armour.

[Seeing as they usually ended up getting the best toys back in his world. Armor included.]
