[video] - 002
[The video feed shows Meg standing in her apartment bedroom. There's a can of spraypaint in her hand, which she's shaking up with a clacking sound coming from the can as its mixed.
Her lips purse and she whistles a happy tune as she lifts the can to the wall and starts to spray paint a design. It's not your traditional grafitti. Instead, it's a mix of circles, lines and symbols.
Nothing like beginning your home decor with a little angel-proofing. And if her roomies aren't careful, she's going to migrate these symbols onto the living room walls, too.]

I believe you. You do act like a hunter.
[She smirks.]
Even if you're not, you should protect your ass, anyway.
Name's Nicki.
no subject
Eric. You wanna tell me what you're keeping out with those?
no subject
Angels.
[And with that one word, she's watching the expression on John's face.]
no subject
Most people look to welcome 'em in. What d'you know about 'em? [His hand stays on his gun, but his stance relaxes a little bit; he buys her as a hunter, everything she did so far screamed it, aside for showing her face on the network. He wonders if she knows of the angel's presence, if her little show was meant for him.]
no subject
[She eyes him a bit as she strolls toward the wall and then stares at the symbols.]
They come from heaven, sure, but they can't be trusted. They might say they're on your side, but angels only do what their superiors command.
I'm not gonna tell you there's a God. I've never seen Him if he exists. But I've seen angels. One demon or one ghost is still just one thing to fight. But an angel, one of them can waste a town of a thousand before you can blink an eye.
no subject
And these symbols keep them out? What else do you know about them?
no subject
Well, you can only know so much. You can read plenty of books about them.
I know they have to take a body. If you see one, that's an angel riding around in some poor sap's skin.
no subject
[Mary used to say angels were watching over Dean. God, what he wouldn't give to avoid that being true now.]
How d'you fight them?
no subject
There's a weapon that can hurt 'em, but angels have them.
There's also a sigil you can use to banish them. Only works for a few hours, though, but it'll give you enough time to clear out if you need to.
no subject
[Finally, something's going his way - he's getting the information he needs. A way to banish Cas from Dean's side if the worst case scenario happens - and to be honest when doesn't it happen to Winchesters?]
Show me -
no subject
[She holds her hands out to show the length.]
With a sharp point and shine like pure silver.
The sigil...
[Meg goes to a drawer and pulls out a sheet of paper and a pen. She starts drawing the sigil onto the paper.]
It looks like this. You paint it on a surface, a wall, something like that, but it's gotta be done in blood. Then you just press your hand into the middle of it, and the angel vanishes. I don't know where they go, and I don't really give a damn. If one's about to toast you, don't hesitate to use it. Could save your life.
no subject
Does it matter what kind of blood? Does it have to be fresh?
[Because drawing that takes time and if he could have one of those at the ready, that would make his life a hell of a lot easier.]
no subject
If you find out, tell me, alright?
[She smiles a bit and offers him the piece of paper.]
Hey, you seem alright, but I don't want it getting around that I'm a hunter. That video thing was a fluke, but I'm pretty sure you're the only one smart enough to know what you saw.
[A little smirk.]
Besides, I work alone. I don't need anyone bangin' on my door. I've gotta look out for myself.
no subject
I'll keep yours if you keep mine. Better be careful with that video option and what you say on public feeds. This place is freak central.
[He can count the humans he met here on one hand, and two of them are family.] Anything else you can tell me?
no subject
[Meg knows this secret won't last long, but she's going to enjoy it while it does. She can't wait to see the look on their faces, too.]
That's about it. I know it's not much, but it's better than nothing. Unless there's somethin' you wanted to ask me.
no subject
Sounds like you know alla this from experience. How'd you come by it?
no subject
[He probably picks up the past-tense.]
You look like you've been around the block a few times, yourself.
no subject
The Harvelles. Bill.
He thinks of his own boys, and how his own death affected them. They're strong and they have each other but he can see it in their faces every time they look at him.]
Yeah, but not around angels. D'you know why they came after him?
no subject
He met angels earlier than that. They were after some demons, but the demons were hold up in a place covered in those symbols. Cloud hoppers couldn't get in.
[She gestures at the wall.]
They needed someone else, a human, to go in and take care of the problem since they couldn't. I guess they picked him out since he was a hunter and a priest. They figured he'd play along.
[Yup, she's just sucking him right in, isn't she? Oh John, always a softie for family stories.]
no subject
What'd they do?
[Everyone has a weakness. Even John Winchester.]
no subject
He was a priest. I mean, what else would he do? Of course he listened. So they used him. Had him go after demons here or there and clean up little messes. He thought he was doing God's work.
And then...
It just got bigger. There was a nest of demons in this apartment. My uncle couldn't deal with it. The angels decided it would be 'neater' to smite the whole goddamn building. Nevermind that there were people in there. Families. Kids.
They didn't care. That's what angels are really like. Next time they came knocking on my uncle's door, he told 'em to go to hell and got rid of 'em using those symbols. Put an end to that relationship real fast.
You can't trust 'em, no matter what they say, 'cause they're just out for their own agenda and they'll use any sucker who's stupid enough to be taken in.
[Making up shit is fun!]
no subject
They let him go? They didn't come after him once he went out, or did he have some sorta portable version of those?
no subject
In the end, I guess they decided they didn't need him. Uncle always said he thought they moved on from him and found somebody else. Someone younger and less experienced.
Even if he wasn't killing the demons and monsters they were pointing him at, he was still doing the job. Guess they figured he was more use to them alive as a hunter.
Not like he could do anything to stop them, so what did they care? They got what they wanted for awhile. He was never the same, though. I think he got lucky. They could've wasted him without a second thought if they really wanted to.
no subject
Those angels...they got names?
no subject
It was a few years ago. I never saw 'em, myself. I just know what my uncle told me.
[She looks like she's thinking pretty hard about it.]
Gosh.. what was his name...
