[ Jo's on her way to the bank with the ticket the creepy woman gave her when she turns on the feed, so it bounces a little as she walks. ] Okay, other "transports", quick question: who all here thinks the woman that greeted us is completely insane, and who all bought her load of crap? [ Jo's not going to reveal, in so many words, how she feels but it's probably pretty obvious by the tone of her voice and the look on her face. ]

Yeah, which leaves you listening to lots of opinions and insights from the people who've been here for more than a month. They've got some pretty good ones!

...what's the longest someone's been trapped here?

I think it's six, eight months?

Great. [ That doesn't bode well. She runs a hand over her mouth. ] Has there been any luck with escaping?

[ She holds up a finger and... ]

Escaping to which where and when? Most of the answers are negative, but people aren't all stuck here forever, or... so I've heard. Not that anyone seems to know what that means? Or they do, and I haven't caught on to it yet!

[shotgunning]

[ This place is going to give her a headache, she can tell. ] In other words, things happen but people generally don't have answers as to how or why.

[whatsupcroc]

[ She snaps her fingers and points to the camera. ]

Oh yeah. Especially when it comes to the how we're here, and the how we get not-here to our homes again.

[ She sighs and drops her head back in exasperation for a moment. ]

Does anyone know anything about this place?

There's the politics, the places worth eating, the changes to how the world works, the library -- it depends what you want to know, and who's willing to step up and answer. Of course, poking people on this mini laptop gets some nice results too, since people are totally not obliging by coming to all of us and laying out this stuff in any way that makes sense past what Ms. Congeniality said when we first arrived.

So it's the same as everywhere else in that sense, then. [ Good to know. ] Any chance you're one of the ones that can explain the comment you just made about the world changing?

[whatsupcroc]

Not really well, I'm still trying to figure that one out. It's... I think got something to do with how we're supposed to help this group, the Initiate, fight the bigger government, the United Jerks-R-Us controlling most the globe. People try to change things that have happened, maybe it works, maybe it doesn't, we get back here and see what sticks?

[shotgunning]

[ It's a better answer than nothing, though all it really does is make Jo's curiosity grow that much stronger. She considers that answer for a moment, glances off screen towards the bank she's nearing, then shifts her attention back towards the screen. ] What if we don't help them fight? What happens then?

[whatsupcroc]

They find some other way of making you useful, I guess. I know the lady said our roommates are supposed to help us figure out the training thing, but it's kind of weird anyway. My guess is they're hoping we work together for a general go back home goal!

What'd you walk away from the weapons room with?

[shotgunning]

[ The problem with that is Jo's going to want proof before she signs up for anything. She'll kick ass and take names to help protect people, but it's going to take a lot to actually get her sold on the whole war thing. ]

A knife. [ Never mind the importance of it that guaranteed her choosing it over anything else there, even if some of the other weapons looked pretty badass. ] You?

[ Ah! Collette grins, holding up her stop watch. ]

Time.

[shotgunning]

[ Okay... ] How's a stop watch gonna help you in the war or whatever?

[whatsupcroc]

I'm not sure yet -- but I'm excited to find out. What if I can fast-forward time! Speed me or someone else up? Slow someone else down? There's so many possibilities!

Plus keeping time is important. Trust me on this one. It can be a life saver.

[shotgunning]

[ Those could actually be pretty useful - if the possibility of having powers like that exists here and isn't taken advantage of - so she just sort of nods. ]

I don't doubt that, not even a little bit. A few seconds either way and it definitely impacts the outcome of the situation.

Which is why I'm happy to have time on my side for once.

It's usually not on your side?

We're usually at odds. Racing the clock to get things done, that sort of thing!

[shotgunning]

That makes sense. [ She and the Winchesters were fighting the clock before she found herself here, after all. ] I'm Jo, by the way. I don't think I mentioned that.
