This is most certainly a change. To be quite honest, I am not very fond of these leaps and bounds into the future. I become rather fond of 1962 as history rages on.

Nevertheless.

I've been somewhat limited in my time since arriving here. You see, my mutation does not function in the same way. It's very distressing.

It is with that in mind that I ask you all whether or not the same thing is occurring for you. Have you noticed any dampening of your natural abilities? Perhaps abilities that were not necessarily of the norm?

All input is most appreciated.

Thank you.

Six of us with previous similar experiences... I wonder... If that's relevant. Like whatever technology they use might find 'displaced' people more easily or...

What was that New York like? You're a mind reader, right? Did you get to keep that?

I would say the version of 1882 I was in was just like you'd expect only much darker too. I wonder if that's just coincidence or a pattern?

But if they can bring us across time and dimensions--is your, um, mind reading so powerful that you think it's surprising they can block it? Looking at it like the sci fi genre, blocking telepathy isn't a new trope at all.

Though, then again, thinking about it that way, if they have a way to shield themselves I guess the worry would be they might have a way to block your own ability entirely or stop it...

[Maybe not so tactful, Mikado?]

Um! But since they haven't used it, maybe they wouldn't.

[Speak better future!nerd Charles!]

That wouldn't be surprising though, given the situation, right? I mean... Revealing what they're capable of wouldn't be smart, even if they trusted us completely...

[Don't worry Charles bro, we'll find you a wiki/tropes page in this sci fi future to waste time on some time. Or you'll just hang out with Umineko people and end up speaking Meta anyway.]

I agree. This situation is either a sci fi story or a futuristic horror genre, either way it'd be best to assume it's not "safe" even discounting war.

[Give in to the internet Charles...]

Story tropes can give a good basis for description though.

[Or Mikado just really likes cliches.]

But how would you say it?

I guess at this point it's still speculation anyway.

[Mikado would laugh at your memes Charles!]
