Well, I've been a mage nearly all my life. If you need help with elemental powers, I might be able to help you. [ Unless it's an elemental like earth or wind—those don't exist in Tamriel, aside from shouts. ]

Any good ways to 'fine tune' that kind of thing?

Meditation and practice. You must first learn to control it. I've seen many mages who've summoned more than they can withstand. It's...not a pretty sight.

While it's not my weapon here, I'd still rather not do something like that. [Mostly because in her case, it can literally get extremely painful.] Meditation sounds like a great idea, though~

Even if it's not your primary weapon, magic offers an edge no other weapons can match. [ Ease-of-access, for one. ] It helps with channeling the magic that courses through your body. Control is...one of the more difficult aspects of magic to master.
