We've already seen how the smallest change made can rewrite the entire history of this world. People are unborn, warheads are undropped... because we've cut out the circumstances which led to their happening.

How do you think that it might be the same for us? Transports come and go so often here and no one knows why. Whatever we do, we are always altering chances, there is no reason not to consider they could also be our own. That someone arrived on a day no longer existing may suddenly leave, or return by new circumstance, or forget they were ever here before.

It may be that we don't "go home", just. "Never arrive".

[It does happen.

Just- there had always been a driving force, Akuma, Noah, the Earl, shrapnel, gunfire, something, something Lenalee could grasp and hate. She can hate the not knowing, too, but it's so much more ephemeral.]

They aren't all gone.

[It is easier, to have a source of blame. It was one of the reasons Zelos was so prone to blaming himself. Self-hate was easier to grasp than the entire big picture.]

[But...he's trying to learn at least, it doesn't solve everything]

Maybe the remaining ones found some way to make themselves like us. Has anyone talked to them, see if they still remember their old city?

If anyone has, I haven't caught word of it. [ and she's afraid to see to them herself, look at them up close and know they're more doomed than they are saved; swipes at her eyes ] They remember others from the Initiative.

Hm...I don't know if that's good or bad for them.

[To be the only ones left of everyone you knew....Zelos could barely take being one of the only surviving members of his family, much less an entire people]

But don't fret so much. If you remember them, they can't have never arrived right? That's good enough. It's memories that count anyway.

That... what we do ripples outward, like water... eventually reaches things we hadn't thought would be reached. The boat still rocks.

The more I think about time-travel, the less sense it makes.

That's because we're not supposed to travel time. Humans live in the linear, so it's hard for us to grasp it.

And for you're wondering....I don't know. One can't predict what effects any action has. Even when you're action is inaction.

That there's so much out of a person's control through no fault of their own?

I...find that to be so, yeah. [And it's sincere too.]

I've always known that there is no full control we could take over anything. It's just how life is. But sometimes... I guess I felt that maybe if I pushed myself enough, just a bit harder, I could wrest a little more from the world.
