[Facilier has been busy since his fortuitous arrival a month ago. He's been keeping an eye on people, both on the tablet and off, quietly getting a feel for the place. People here won't be as easy to fleece as they were back in New Orleans, but it doesn't matter. If he plays it right, he has all the time in the world here to get his footing somewhere good. Now, he's aware he's going to have to do some advertising. Word of mouth is well and good, but he'd rather people know where to find him, should they be in need of his particular...services.

He still isn't used to using the tablet beyond its voice function. At least with that, he can pretend it's a telephone instead of some device that belongs in a moving picture. He's nothing if not a good salesman, though, and this time...this time he needs the video. The screen is static-y at first, the good doctor watching an unseen person trying to get the thing to work]

No, I don't think throwing it at the wall will help.

[Oh. There we go. Facilier offers the camera a wide smile, as his shadow floats from somewhere off screen to hover beside him]

Bonjou and good day, fellow Transports! I'm still fairly new here, and figure it's about time I introduce myself. [A flamboyant bow to the camera, this thing better be working] Doctor Facilier, at your most humble service. I would have introduced myself sooner, but I've been busy establishing myself in this new little 'ol world of ours.

[The shadow moves offscreen again and suddenly the tablet is floating about in mid-air, showing off the little one-room home that Facilier has converted into his Emporium.]

So if any of y'all are in need of potions, charms, or even have your future read, don't you ever hesitate to come find me. [A piece of paper with a scrawled address hovers in front of the screen for a few moments, before it and the tablet are put back down to face Facilier once more]

After all, I'm real interested in helping y'all out. That's what this should all be about, right? Givin' each other a hand while we deal with all this other mess concerning the United Earth and what have you. I'd hate to sit back with my particular talents and not have them be of some use to the folk living here.

[One more friendly smile for good measure] So I hope to be seein' some of you soon.

I'm still getting myself settled into this place, I've got all the time in the world to meet new people.

That's a nice way to think about it. And there are a lot of people to meet - I'm sure you'll have plenty of people to befriend and have clients.

[ Wait, does that mean she's his first client? Gosh! ]

I've met a fair few already. Everyone here is so willing to help, got a real sense of community spirit.

That's great! It's really wonderful that so many people help each other out here. With the situation what it is, they could just as easily refuse to help others.

[He smiles and gestures to the empty chair in front of him]

Speaking of which, take a seat, and let's see what's in your cards.

[ Lucy grins, because it's just so nice to see a polite gentleman who agrees that it would be a shame if people turned their backs on each other here! ]

Ah! Yes, of course! [ How exciting! She's never had her future read by anyone but Cana before - and Cana's readings were always dead on. Except for the ones Lucy refused to believe regarding a certain dragon slayer. Still! She pulls out the chair and sits herself on down, ready to watch the man work. ]

[His tarot cards appear in his hands as if from nowhere, and he deftly shuffles them, occasionally pulling a few cardsharp tricks before fanning them out in front of her]

Take three, please.

[ Oh he's good. Remind her to never play cards with him. As the cards were fanned out, she leaned forward, plucking three cards, tempted to peek, but knowing she wouldn't really follow anyway. ]

Now, let's see what we have here.

[The main deck vanishes, leaving only Lucy's three chosen cards. Carefully, he fans them across the table. The first card he turns over has a great sun in the background. Ahead of it stands Lucy, surrounded by her dearest friends, all smiling up at her]

Ya'll were born into a wealthy family, you ran away when your father neglected you, too interested in his own business to give you the attention you needed. Oh look at this, a mage. With a talent for making contracts with spirits. [Just like that, she's made herself a very important person to watch on Facilier's list.] That's interestin'.

Anyhow, you soon found yourself a lil' band to travel with, part of a Guild. Ya'll had plenty of adventures under your belt for such a young lady.

[The image on the card keeps shifting, showing various points of Lucy's life thus far. There was was meeting Natsu, there she is battling Everlue, again there she is talking to a drunk Cana. The people on the card change, but the backdrop of that bright sun remains]

You've been a busy girl. But you're always the heart of your group. That important person that keeps them all together.

[ WHOAH. How... was his card doing that? She's already impressed, especially since he was accurately telling of those important moments in her life. And she knows she didn't tell a lot of people about those moments, so .. his fortune telling clearly must be the real deal.

...being an important person to watch is a good thing, right? ... right? ]

That's .. all right, so far..! [ It's true, she has been a busy girl. So much history under her belt. So many friends made. ]

Well.. I am! I didn't expect your ability to extend so far just from reading the card like that... it's really something to see!

[He turns the middle card over, this time the image is upside down, it's of Lucy surrounded by friends again, this time the ones she's made in Exsilium, eight cups surround them]

Much like back home, ya'll dedicate your time here to friends, old and new. Parties, playin' card games, whatever it is that brings people together, and you can bet that ya'll will be there.

[ Lucy can't say she understands the symbolism of the upside down her, or the cups, but.. ]

Haha, you got it in one again there. It's true, I do spend a lot of my time with my friends. They're what's most important to me.

Oh, I can tell. I'm sure even the ones you made here are glad to have you in their lives. [This sort of generosity is the kind that gets you in the end. Everyone is out for themselves, and if Facilier were capable of feeling actual pity, he'd try to scrape some up for her. But he can't, so instead there's a casual sort of disdain instead. Not that he shows it, oh no.]

[ Lucy grins, thoroughly pleased by that assessment. Damn right they are. Or at least they should be. Cuz she's awesome. ... okay ego moment over. She's clueless to the disdain because he is an excellent showman and she'd walk out if she had an inkling. ]

.. Yeah, I am. [ She already had an inkling of it from Natsu's recent return, but... she had a vague feeling he left out some parts. Things like her future self's death. So she was curious what the shadow man would tell her. ]

[Facilier turns the final card over. On it is Lucy. Two Lucy's in fact, standing beside a great Lion.]

You have yourself plenty of battles. [He frowns, confused, because this is new ground for him, and he doesn't quite understand the mechanics of her world.] Another you...one from the future, makes herself known, and she dies protecting you from another time traveller who'd come to destroy you. [Wow, that's weird. He tries to cover up his confusion with an easy smile]

Good thing ya'll have time travel on your side right now, hmm? anyhow, you're there to witness a great dragon coming out of a gate. You manage to close the gate, but the dragons are still a problem, as they want to bring about the end of the world.

It's good! Watch where you're stabbing though :D!

Her amused, interested smile suddenly became much less amused at this part. This part Natsu didn't tell her - well he mentioned they were able to stop the dragons, but he didn't mention the part about the other her dying. She's silent for a few minutes, unable to speak from the shock.

"Died...? Are you sure?" Did he mean dead-dead or like... figuratively...?

Hmmmm. [He squints at the card, getting far more out of it than the picture shows]

That fella wanted you out of the picture, saying you'd cause the dragons to escape the gate, when actually you'd prevent it.Tried to get you killed, but your future self stepped in the way.

... [ That is SO like her to do something like that. HE could be way off base too though. ]

...Natsu ...didn't say anything about this... [ Well if he's accurate as he was with her past and present, she could understand why, but... ]

/skips off cackling into the night

[Facilier nods understandingly, tapping his chin thoughtfully]

Could be he was tryin' to protect you.

That... is probably the case. Natsu's always like that. [ She adored him for it, but she wished he wouldn't bear those kinds of things on his own. ]

[And now, now was a chance. He offers her a gentle smile.]

Well, if there's anything I can do for you in regards of changing things some, I can always give that a try. I'm good at changing people's futures.

... I appreciate the offer, but... I think I'm going to have to pass. I think I've had enough of tampering with timelines and things to last me a lifetime.

[ ... though she hesitates again, because if something were to happen to Natsu...or any of her guildie friends she absolutely would take him up on the offer. Anything, anything to protect those dearest to her. ]
