Hi, I'm Kate Bishop, and I'm a superhero. [There's a pause before she goes on.] There's a chance that doesn't mean much to many of you. There may even be some of you questioning the legality of vigilantes, but I'm not the type that goes too far. There's a reason why we kind of prefer "superhero" over "vigilante" anyway. For those of you who do know them, I'm an Avenger. But that's meaningless here. And I'm not really here to ... brag, either.

[Her voice is warm either way. There's a reason why she's here.]

Back home, I've got a like-minded group that tends to go on missions like the ones here. I was hoping to form something like that. It won't be the same, but I've got a couple teammates and not the whole set. We'd do pretty well for ourselves, but we need a couple more helping hands. So that's why I'm here. Well, partly.

[There is a question she has about this whole alternate earth business, but she'll get to it. She really wants a cohesive unit working together, as that seems to be the best way to proceed forward.]

The other goal I'd like for our group is to mobilize and help people in need. I can do this myself, and I'm planning on it, but more hands at the deck might help out. We don't just need this in missions, and from what I've read, we don't know what's gonna come next. I know it's risky to put together a group like this with how people come and go, but I'm prepared to deal with that. Plus, I don't just back down from something. I'm kind of stubborn that way.

If you've already got something like this going and wouldn't mind a few more people, I'd love to chat with you. I'm an archer mostly, but I have other gifts. One member is a ... [a trickster? How does one even sell Loki?] ... well, I'm sure he's good at something. And the final is an alien with advanced knowledge of technology that he might share. He's also got bug DNA and is extremely flexible. [That last bit. She really had to add that last bit.] So let me know.

The other question is: in the annals of this world, have people of Earth found evidence that they existed? Back home, alternate Earths like this usually mean ... alternate versions of us, which can either be a good thing, or a very, very bad thing. I'm thinking bad, considering the state of things. I was just wondering.

Not exact alternates. [Jason is from a world that isn't like hers, and Bruce is - wrong.] But closer than this world and mine. I don't know enough about time travel or the multiverse to make a theory of it, though.

I wish I'd had more time to chat with the time traveler I knew. I kind of avoided the little details. [For obvious reasons.]

But I think I met someone from where you're from. Maybe? Things line up. Her name's Kate, too.

Yeah, a few people I know have done plenty of time travel, but I never thought I'd need to know the gory details.

[That's pretty above her paygrade.]

Kate's from the same place as me, yeah. There's a couple of us here.

I think Noh-Varr's done a bit of theory work. He's the alien mentioned above, but I'm not sure how much he can freely share. He gets close-lipped about certain technological advancements. [With good reason. She's understood the logic behind it, anyway.]

Problem is, I'm not sure how well anything applies here. We're here. So we need to do our bests. Problem is ... [Well, it's not always that easy.]

Does shit like that really matter here?

[Being careful about sharing information, since they're already fucking things up magnificently.]

Times like these I really miss the Initiative, at least they could tell us more about the time travel mess.

I'd say no, but I think some of it's kind of ingrained in his DNA. [There are some mysteries she'll never figure out entirely.]

And yeah, I think having more direction from somewhere along these lines would help.

[She doesn't mean to sound as sarcastic as she does, it just seems kinda stupid to fuss about that sorta thing when there's already a bunch of worlds and timelines coming into contact.]

Not even direction I'm worried about so much as the knowledge. What holds true for other worlds might not hold true here, but we don't know for certain.

[Kate isn't really interested in talking about the philosophical problems of the Kree Empire. Because there are a lot of them, and she's already been frustrated with them for a while, if only because some of Noh-Varr's less cute qualities tend to tie back to that very Empire.

So she leaves it and moves on.]

Knowledge for me leads to direction. Maybe in about eight years, we'd have some level of certainty so we won't be asking these questions, or wondering if things are similar enough, but that'll be because of trial and error. Trial and error is too uncertain for me, and I don't even mind jumping head first most of the time.

I'd prefer direction from ourselves, not orders from up high.

[Which isn't to say she hasn't missed the simplicity of just going on the missions that the Initiative told them to, but she really would rather the Transports make decisions for themselves.]

Maybe we just need to lock all the time travel experts in a room together until they figure this shit out.

Nice idea, but as has been made clear to me, we need to make sure the time travel theory actually applies to this world. And I'm gonna guess no one's tracked any of that in great detail, at least scientifically. Am I right?

I wouldn't even know how they could track that. But maybe if we locked them all in a room together they could figure out how.

[mostly she just wants everyone to actually communicate with each other, but she's still working out the best way to do that.]

If you have the right genius behind it, I think one person could do it. Stick enough together and it's a certainty. [She mentally makes a note to try and identify all these people. That seems important.]

[Steph's already got a small list, but she's not planning to share it with someone she doesn't really know.]

Maybe if they had the resources they would at home, but here I figure the more minds behind it the better.

I'm still wondering why the resources aren't available.

I'm thinking more along the lines of "why weren't those resources available in the recent past?"

You mean before we completly fucked the world over?

That's the tactless version of it.

Anyway, to actually answer the question:]

Exsilium was basically a convict colony, the levels of tech were all over the place, since a lot of it had to be scavenged. So while we do have time travel tech, they didn't have like, toaster ovens. Whatever scientific equipment you need to work with time travel probably wasn't available outside the Initiative Hold, and they didn't like to share their toys.

Yeah, but we've got people here who can reinvent the toaster oven, right? I mean, using that example. Getting the parts for a toaster oven wouldn't be so hard, but getting the parts for something bigger, I can see the issue.

But if you do it in specific, spaced out drop points, with different locations and a different method each time, and no one's any wiser. They can't piece together why it's working out that way.

If you mean using time travel, this is where I should mention that before we got up to the moon, we had absolutely no control over missions.

... Did they just got spit out as suggestions or what?

The Initiative were in control, but all but a few of them stayed in the city when the bomb was dropped.

... Got it. [Because there's not much more to say than that. It was a sacrifice.]
