[ After being shown the observatory and being told of the events as well as the objectives he must do, Izumo moves out to the hall, leans on the wall next to a window showing the infinite expanse of space, and gets out the handy-dandy tablet given to him. A few minutes of fiddling with it, he manages to make it work (it's almost similar to the ones back home), and decides to look through the network.

Space. Didn't think this would actually happen, especially to me. Never really dreamt of becoming an astronaut when I was younger.

There's well over a decade's worth of stories about that, but I'll summarize for you. Once you get past our solar system, space shuttles and big bubble helmets look more than a little bit silly and inefficient.
