[There's a small girl on the screen who looks barely older than twelve. Her voice is soft, with all emotion drained from it. The language used, though, definitely points to someone older.]

Please allow me to introduce myself. I am Dlanor A. Knox, Chief Inquisitor of Hersey of the Great Courts of Heaven. It's a pleasure to meet all of you, despite our circumstances. I look forward to working with everyone in the future.

I have been informed that there is an organized police force run by Transports. I apologize for the broad message, but I'm unsure who I should contact if I wish to join. I'm new here.

Thank you for your help.

[Brief pause.]

I understand that a sizable chunk of the Transport population has migrated down to Earth. If I may ask, how are things progressing down there?

[She plays with the device, not turning it off this time but not speaking right away. It isn't that she needs to think; she knows what she wants. But saying it? All she has to do is order it.

But instead of a commanding voice, it's something quieter.]

...There is a way. You could become my partner again. [A beat. She doesn't feel like she's done Dlanor proud here...] If you'll have me, of course.

[And there go the tears again.]

You were looking for me...? [Erika starts laughing, pressing her arm over her face even if Dlanor can't see it anyway.] That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard! You can't find someone who doesn't exist anymore. Even you can't! How stupid...

[She can't stop smiling. It hurts.]

Then let me congratulate you on succeeding in an impossible mission.

I don't really care if my presence would have been welcome or not. [Though, knowing Battler would invite her back after what happened does surprise her. What an optimistic idiot.]

After all, as you said, I would have received the warmest welcome possible.

[From her.]
