He stole an innocent woman's powers by attacking her while she was already in custody, gloated about it and then refused to give them back because he felt he had the right to 'punish her'.

I'd say that's fairly high on the egomaniacal scale, sweetheart.

She wasn't innocent if she was in the fucking mutiny. [Tess wasn't innocent, either. She deserved what happened. It's funny how often Ellie has to say this to herself.]

She had it coming.

It was a non-violent coup. Any defenses we set up were done to keep someone psychotic from taking off our heads-- which, by the way, didn't seem to matter to most of the nutjobs on this base.

The only thing Tempest did was set up a proper barrier of defensive magic. I'd say that's one hell of a lot more innocent than what Jesse's done.

I don't think most of us read that memo. Admit it, you guys fucked up. It was a bad idea that didn't do shit but land you in a cell for a few weeks. [And then most of the hate was shifted to Jesse, which still makes Ellie angry. As if that isn't obvious.]

He didn't shoot her or stab her. [Ellie would have.] And if the whole base didn't flip their shit on him, I'm sure he would have been a lot more cooperative a whole lot sooner.

The memo we broadcast once a day over the PA system? That memo? Yeah, no. Absolutely hard to miss. [Sore subject. All of this is, to be fair.]

He tore out a part of her. And in regards to cooperating so much sooner, sure. That makes all the bloody sense in the world, doesn't it? Petting his poor, wounded heart-- as quite a few people were willing to do-- as if tormenting his so-called friend was the right way to go about it when she was already in jail.

News flash, darling: that's not what you do to someone you call your mate. Especially when they've no way to defend themselves.

He thought he was doing the right thing. I'm sure you could relate with misguided heroics, right? [Not that Ellie thinks he was misguided at all.]

This whole thing was a big lesson about friendship? [A gasp!] You guys should have said so in the first place. Might have saved everyone some trouble.

I might not know you but I did know her, and I'm not sorry when I tell you that I won't stop talking about her: that's a memory I'm not about to let die after all she's done for us.
