She brings a question she'd talked to Ros about, in her own way; something she wants to know very simply because she doesn't, and it's all the more important now.

When it comes down to do or die, who do you trust here to make decisions to pull people through, and not leave people stranded high and dry, or freeze up and fall into inaction? People who keep their temper in heated circumstances. Ones who maybe aren't going to forget the bigger picture, even if that doesn't make it easy on the smaller scale.

I've got a few names myself! Blue, Kate Kane, Nathan Summers, Caesar Silverberg, Lenalee Lee, Xerxes Break, Gilbert Nightray, Jaime Reyes, Ashraf, Kang, Peter Quill, Donny, Armin Arlert, Chrono and Rosette, even Dick Grayson and Ahiru and Vanadi, of all people, would stand by you figuring things out.

Hey, Blue? All those questions about AIs... I think you were asking for a reason. Is it up for discussion? Because I think it should be past a planning stage.

Jai-- ( She coughs. ) Hi! Blue Beetle? Hahaha, I'm sorry, that's two blues in a row, but um, with all that stuff on Project Chimera, have you like, found anything talking about when they started learning how to grow people up so fast? Someone had to have a breakthrough on that, unless science really works that way! I'm not sure, it's all super advanced for when I'm from.

And um... okay, I'm not sure about this one either. Tony? Tony Stark? What do you know about uh... renewable energy stuff?

What kinds of things do you carve? And yeah, it takes people, but it's worth it. The things you work for or change or help, it's worth it!

[limitstorm]

[ instantly flustered. ]

N-not really... back home, I learned how to carve all kinds of things. Wood beads, bracelets, models... it's, y'know, to calm your mind. And tradition. I'm--I'm not skilled enough to make sculptures.

[ he sobers, then. ] It is. You've just got to make sure everyone's on the same page.

[ BT mutineers. ]

Oh! Do you think you could carve like, a bowl? Or a spoon? Or a spork!

... Or a crocodile?

( She has favorites, please forgive her. )

Mmm, I think people are more aware of that now, so the talking thing, that definitely needs to keep happening!

[ ... he's about to speak when she poses the thought of a crocodile and he hums. ]

I could do all of those... never done a crocodile before. Piranha, yeah.

Hopefully they'll keep talking.

I'd love to see it, if you do! I love crocodiles. Kind of a personal favorite of mine!

They will. If it means we keep helping them talk, then that's what we'll do! Right?

Huh, really? I would've taken you for a leopard kind of person.

[ a hum. ] We'll do our best. We just have to make sure that they're willing to talk. Some might not be.

People are people. Some will, some won't! We just can't give up, that's what isn't an option.

[ you can hear his shrug in the little noise he makes afterward, as if saying 'oh, well' ]

If the fight's hard, you know what you're fighting for is worthwhile.

( His response makes her laugh, though in turn, she doesn't respond to it. She's not sure if she entirely agrees. The feeling is nice regardless. )

Yeah. I know what you mean there! Not that we should find harder fights just to prove how worthwhile something is. That's just dumb!

Fighting just for fighting's sake doesn't count. [ he sighs. ] That's just pride getting the best of you.
