[A door behind him opens and a woman steps through, dressed in a pair of boxers and a sports bra. A toothbrush hang from her mouth] Shepard? [Kaidan's eyes are wide. He glances back at the screen] Uh. Never mind that last bit.

[ Blink. Blink. ] Yeah it really traumatized me, lemme tell ya. So you're the one who takes my kids when they graduate?

Well, I'm glad you were able to recover, then. [The only hint that he's not being legit sincere is a slight quirk to his lips] Not all of them, and I'm obviously not the only person who ends up commanding biotics. But I take the top students, teach them how to take the skills they've learnt at the Academy and apply them to real life situations.

Huh. [ She's quiet for a second, thinking. ] Good. Now I know whose ass to come shove a boot up if I hear bad news of them come back.

[ That is... completely sincere. She will hunt you down and hurt you if you let bad things happen to her kids. ]

[He eyes her for a moment. Hi Jack you are about to learn that Kaidan never lies even when crazy biotic ladies are making threats at him] I can't make that promise. They're soldiers, and we just entered the war to end all wars. I can promise that I'll do everything in my power to keep them alive and well, but I'm not going to tell you you'll never get bad news.

[ Screw you, Kaidan, she knows that ] And if I figure out you didn't do everything in your power to do that? Your ass is dust. Just making sure we're clear on that.
