I'm looking for a lab, and I'd say "hypothetically, say a guy is looking for a lab of all his own," but really, I need a lab to conduct some experiments. I promise I'm not planning to blow up any showers or the kitchen or anything like that, I—I generally avoid fires. Generally. [Except that one time in chemistry, but he's much more graceful now.] It's just that I'm used to having a lab of all my own, and I've checked the map a few times, and ... well—I don't wanna assume, you know, that I've got access to that.

[It's only now that he realizes that he should've gone for upgraded webshooters, but he didn't really want to ditch what Tony Stark gave him. They're from Tony Stark! They were a birthday present from Tony Stark.]

And this also came up with a buddy ... a pal ... you know, a new guy here, who's new like me, that maybe we should come up with a way to track the disturbances in the—[Force. Don't be a nerd, Parker.]—in the way things are here. Has anyone tried that yet?

Oh, and I'm Peter Parker. Yeah, I'm a nerd. You guessed it. But what can I say? I managed a lab in my own room back home, I can't go without here. Especially here.

No problem, though I'm gonna wonder why only three people are hooking up the generators here. Though I guess too many hands on a project can lead to some bad things. [Or whatever that saying is.]

Emergency generators, not the big ones. These are for the clinic in case our power got cut. [A beat.]

That, and we were the ones who volunteered.

I kind of think in terms of "we're on the moon so the worst is probably going to happen," I guess.

Do we have a plan in case the worst happens? Do you know?

Yeah. Thus the emergency generators. Clinic's first priority, is all.

[Their main ones have been hooked up and ready to go for ages now. ~~Little do they know that they should have gotten it all done before some assholes turned out the lights~~.]

I don't know. That depends on your definition of 'worst'.

The base is attacked and we don't have anywhere to escape to, essentially. I'd call that a worst case. That can come in many different shapes and sizes, too.

See, my worst case scenario is that they bomb us and everyone dies. [He gives the screen a tight lipped smile, but there's not much humour in it. This is not the most reassuring thing in the world to say to a new guy, but hell, it is what it is.] All the way out here, we'd be pretty hard to attack any other way.

Oh.

Yeah, that's a worst case scenario. I mean, if they can go into other worlds, they can definitely bomb the hell out of us.

Yeah. They haven't really got a reason for invading right now. Not saying it's not something we should prepare for, 'cause obviously they're nooot really operating on the same level that we are.

[A beat.]

And bombing us would probably mess up their tides?

It ... might, but then, they might be able to handle it in a way of taking care of us, getting in real close, taking care of us, and yeah. But that's why we need motion sensors.

But somehow I doubt they're worried about their tides. I mean, do they still have tides down there? They're probably messed up as it is.

Why wouldn't they have tides? Though I guess it wouldn't really matter that much.

[He frowns, an idea occurring to him.]

Huh. Wonder if they managed to take over Atlantis too, or if they just stuck to all the land civilizations.
