I'm looking for a lab, and I'd say "hypothetically, say a guy is looking for a lab of all his own," but really, I need a lab to conduct some experiments. I promise I'm not planning to blow up any showers or the kitchen or anything like that, I—I generally avoid fires. Generally. [Except that one time in chemistry, but he's much more graceful now.] It's just that I'm used to having a lab of all my own, and I've checked the map a few times, and ... well—I don't wanna assume, you know, that I've got access to that.

[It's only now that he realizes that he should've gone for upgraded webshooters, but he didn't really want to ditch what Tony Stark gave him. They're from Tony Stark! They were a birthday present from Tony Stark.]

And this also came up with a buddy ... a pal ... you know, a new guy here, who's new like me, that maybe we should come up with a way to track the disturbances in the—[Force. Don't be a nerd, Parker.]—in the way things are here. Has anyone tried that yet?

Oh, and I'm Peter Parker. Yeah, I'm a nerd. You guessed it. But what can I say? I managed a lab in my own room back home, I can't go without here. Especially here.

Well, see, there were those zombie-things, and I was thinking, as obvious as it might be that they were just a thing that needed to be dealt with, I'm thinking we need to be more prepared. Besides, when you factor in all the time movement and the potential problems with opening up literal doors to other worlds, you have to consider these things.

[There's a pause, and he doesn't look that bashful, because hey, at least he knows this guy. Sort of.]

[ It's hard for Wayne to tell if he has a hard time understanding that because he didn't get past seventh grade, or if Peter is just that nerdy. Maybe it's both.

Oh, yeah -- right, right, I've thought about that too. Pretty much anything can get in here between one machine or the other, we're kind of sitting ducks if the anything's dangerous. Which actually is disturbing. So you're also right.

Yeah, and honestly, I'm just waiting for someone who's bad news to turn up and find it hilarious to knock a few holes in all of this. The fact that it hasn't happened yet is actually weird. Oddly trustworthy transports, these guys have.

No kidding. I'm sure there's a hell of a lot of creatures that can breathe in space just fine that'd much rather be back out there than in here.

--And they let people on here with weapons. I mean we gotta at least be grateful for the fact that we're all still alive.

The weapon thing is weird. I mean, I get it, but shouldn't they do some kind of psychological testing first?

I think. Last thing any of us here needs is a sociopath with a grenade launcher, but as far as I know there's not even a 3-day waiting period. And everybody here probably knows at least one guy who'd ruin it for everyone if he was to turn up.

Yeah, I can think of about fifty.

And I need to make some stuff. It'll help, but I've gotta kind of keep it a secret.

Chemistry is always happening in space. I could tell you things about Jupiter that would blow your mind.

[He's joking, and he understands the worry, but he also doesn't want to focus on his web-making too much.]

You probably could, y'know, I barely remember my middle school science class. [ Never mind the fact he's also a middle school drop-out. ] But chemistry in here and chemistry out there -- it's a pretty big difference.
