[ For the briefest moment, an exhausted looking Martin sports a wide, red-and-black gash on his cheek. It's just your imagination, however—in seconds, a shimmering yellow-tinged light washes over his face, closing the wound until only dried blood is left. ] I'm sorry I haven't properly welcomed those of you who have just arrived. My name is Martin Septim, and together with Doctor John Watson, I run the transport clinic. Please, if you must travel around and outside the Hold, be careful. The natives are not happy with us, we're running out of medical supplies, and I don't have any magicka potions.

Thank you for your time. [ In a hurry, Martin cuts off the feed. ]

[ Martin's more tired than he thought—he's seeing double. Did Roslyn just introduce herself as Nikita? Divines, he needs a vacation. ] Likewise, despite the circumstances.

They are suffering from the same side-effects as us. And they're blaming us for it. It's very likely you might have to defend yourself from them. And if you must, please don't kill them. Our reputation is poor as it is.

I'm afraid I missed out on the side-effects. From what little I understand, people are being affected in strange ways. Do we know anything more?

Memory loss, partial and complete invisibility, hallucinations, headaches, the list goes on. The Initiative is as useless as ever, they haven't told us much. [ Yes, Initiative, Martin's so tired he's done being polite. ]

Good. Because whoever gets injured, the clinic will have to heal.

It seems were up against some pretty formidable forces here. I've heard little of the Initiative. Care to tell me more?

[ Martin massages his temples, trying to think how to best phrase his experience with the Initiative. ] What they told when they summoned you is true. What they didn't tell you is that they are not as in control as they appear. Only weeks ago a revolt against them almost broke out. They need us as much as we need them, if not more.

I'm not overjoyed at the prospect of injured people. A healer is happiest when no one is sick or hurt.

[Nikita is too stubborn to give up. Not until she's tried every way she can think of.] There has to be one. They brought us here. It can't be just a one way trip.

[She smiles.]

It seems almost too good to be true. It's been a long time since I've had one of those days.

[ Martin isn't in a hurry to leave, because in his own world, he's dead. That doesn't mean he doesn't want to help others find their way home. ] There is a way. But they control it.

Don't think I can recall a time when I wasn't worrying. [ Wait, he can, but that went badly, quickly. ]

There was a time when I wasn't worrying, when I thought I was helping out my country. And I've been paying for that brief moment of contentment ever since.
