i just kind of thought we were in this together. its how its always been with this place

[He doesn't really know that Peter is coming or he might have at least tried to change things up a bit. As it is now, when Peter steps in, he's going to be walking into a house. It's not a bad house, all things considered- it's homey, a little cramped, but well-lived in and it's obvious that whoever's house it is has lived there for awhile.

Isaac is upstairs, sitting in the hallway with his back pressed against one of the doors. It's not hard to tell why- although there's no name placard or sign stating so, this house is obviously Scott's. And Isaac isn't really doing much, he's not crying or curled up or anything like that. Just sitting there, staring at the wall with his feet flat on the floor, hands resting on his knees and slowly curling into fists before going slack again.]

[peter walks slowly through the house, looking for isaac. he's not particularly quiet about it, his boots obvious on the stairs. when he finds him he just sits down next to isaac, arms folded over his stomach, not quite close enough that their shoulders touch.]

[Isaac doesn't look up when Peter comes in, just shifts to wrap his arms around his knees, setting his chin on top of them as Peter slides down to sit next to him. He takes in a deep breath, and then another, swallowing hard before finally opening his mouth to speak.]

...I was standing right here, you know. When I asked him if I could stay- after Derek kicked me out. [His fingers tighten again, curling in the denim of his jeans.] He didn't even think twice about it.
