[she's been getting pretty good at this typing thing, hence why her post today is in text, rather than anything else. It's good practice! Also she can't stop grinning so it's probably for the best considering what she's asking for today]

I require volunteers for something of an experiment. I am looking for those able to cast magic, and those willing to have magic cast upon them. I suppose one could say this is in the name of science, yes? And should one volunteer, all I require is an afternoon of your time.

There is no risk of harm or damage, of course. Except perhaps to one's dignity.

Are there many mages here?

There are many people who are able to use magic, but I cannot say how many consider themselves mages.

What else would they consider themselves?

Wizards, witches, other names. [she shrugs a shoulder] I've been asked if I am a witch numerous times.

Oh, yes... Witches, especially!

I do wonder how much, perhaps...we can affect with our magic here. They are using technology for all they do, and I haven't yet been able to combine the two in a useful way. I have been able to counter it, however, so I believe your idea has merit.

I, too, have wondered that. I have been able to disrupt some of their technology with magic, but . . . nothing else beyond that. [she ducks her head a bit] I truly hope it does.

Oh, I - their alarms. We snuck in somewhere and . . . electricity can be disrupted by lightning, at times. If it is a high enough spells. It is called "shorting it out" or . . . something like that. But that is what I did.

Really?! Why, I hadn't thought of that, but I should have known so. I had read of how much technology pulls from the elements, though without the need for runes or spells.

My reasoning was much more selfish... I was simply trying to get through a barrier the Initiative had put up so that I could explore further.

Well, I found many different plants! Only some of the seeds survived the return to Exsilium, and then even fewer seedlings survived the ride here...

It's to be seen if they'll be of any beneficial use, but I most certainly hope so.

[ She's only spent an obscene amount of time trying to recreate that gross climate for them. ]

I certainly hope so too. My magic comes from nature, so . . . I have magic to use, of course, but my primary source . . . [she makes a vague gesture]

Mm, oh, yes! Many elves are the same, and I am, too, as I was trained to be a Keeper. I do know other branches of magic, though, which I am thankful for, but I have yet to really put any of it to use here.

If I may ask, though, what is a Keeper?

A Keeper is the most honored elder and guide for a Dalish clan, she or he who carries it's protection and the knowledge of all our ancestors on their shoulder.
