I cant believe we had to take the morning shift. It's way too early. No one would want to attack this early, they'd be too tired.

[But what was he supposed to do? Tatsumi had told him he had the shift with Hisoka, and he didn't want to leave his partner to do the job alone. Bad things happened when he did.

Tsuzuki bounced a ball against the neightbouring wall, oblivious to the sounds it made. He just brought it along because he needed the distraction. He turned to Hisoka, en eyebrow raised.]

Exactly. So you see why we can't just leave to eat when your stomach demands it.

[Which is something at least. Hisoka resists the urge to roll his eyes at how almost puppy-like his partner is right now before throwing the ball back at him.]

If you are really that hungry you can go yourself quickly while I stay here.

[The thought of going to lunch alone only reminds Tsuzuki of their first case together. He'd left Hisoka alone for just a second, and it had resulted in him getting tortured. He wasn't going to make that same mistake again. Not when they're in a new environment with new threats.]

[He grabs the ball in the air, and just like that he pushes the serious thoughts to the back of his mind, too. Brooding on things will do them no good.]

No, that's alright. It's better if we stick together right now.

[He can't help but vaguely pick up on that train of thought, but Hisoka isn't about to acknowledge it, merely hoping to find some way to assure he could manage to protect himself. He hates it, relying on Tsuzuki so much when he gets kidnapped or hurt. He wants to be just as powerful and capable as his partner, though he knows that would take work.

Hisoka shrugs and shakes his head in answer. He's not as much a people person, so it's not a surprise that he's mostly kept his distance.]

Not yet. I'm sure I will eventually depending on how long this goes on for.
