This place is extremely dull, isn't it? Would anyone like to participate in a game with me to pass some time?

Since I don't know most of you, I figured an introduction type of game would be alright. A simple question game, maybe? We can take turns asking each other yes or no questions about each other and every time someone gets a yes for a reply, they get a point. First person to reach ten points wins.

[Huey is scratching the side of his face lightly, looking embarrassed by what he just said.]

As you can see, I'm not . . . the most creative with games. Books are really more my thing. If you have any other suggestions, please let me know.

(ooc: as a note, this is an ic info gathering post and if you comment, there's a chance he will start looking up old posts/comments that your character might have made in the past for future reference and not necessarily for gaming purposes! basically, STALKING WARNING)

I like to dabble in things like medicine and other medical studies. I enjoy reading . . . ah, I like to browse the internet, too.

[She pauses.]

Medicine? You um, didn't strike me as the type to study medicine.

And what type do I strike you as?

W-well er... [she starts flipping through answers in her head.] ...a librarian! You strike me as more as someone who'd be a librarian.

[okay, you made him chuckle at that]

[She's not sure if that's a good chuckle or something she should be worried about, but she presses on anyways. As a journalist, an opportunity like this is pretty exciting, even if she's completely terrified of him.]

So um, why medicine then?

[observingfate]

Well, why not medicine? Hundreds of years ago, modern medicine wasn't even a thing. As years pass, we gather new knowledge and increase the number of diseases we can prevent. Humans live longer than they ever have! It's just a fascinating idea.

I-I guess that is a good point. So you're interested in it from a scientific perspective, right?

Of course. Do you enjoy science, miss?

Oh, well, it's one of those subjects I don't think I'm very good at...

[observingfate]

Mmm. The question though was whether you enjoyed it or not. If you're not good at it, perhaps you haven't found the learning method that clicks best with you. You can still enjoy it even if you struggle with the subject.

Um, well I suppose I'm just not very interested in it. I wouldn't say I dislike it though.

[She gives this some thought.]

Oh-! But there was a time in school where we learned about how crystals were formed, and I enjoyed learning about that.

[That's what Huey's talking about, right?]

You see? There you go. There is something you have an interest in. Of course, it's up to you whether to pursue further knowledge, but that is truly the quickest way to learn about a subject and to become "good" at it.

[...It dawns on Carol that at some point in the conversation it went from trying to poke around for information to getting lectured by a dangerous man. It's strange though, she was expecting him to be completely different. He was surprisingly...human?

She swallows, reminding herself to be careful while trying not to show her own fears.]

Ah, yes, I suppose that's right. I'll consider it, but um, I have more of an interest in things like history and photography instead of science.
