[Alright... Now Kenjirou is drunk.]
Doesn't really matter where we are, does it?
[Whatever alcohol Kenjirou had kept throughout his time in Exsilium and accumulated during missions has been officially depleted. It's been a rough couple of months, and they're only getting rougher. Still, there was one constant that allowed him to keep going. Now that she's gone, it really has become too much to bear. Honestly, a dark part of him wishes she hadn't come in the first place so he wouldn't have to deal with what seems (and Kenjirou fully expects to be) the death of a family member for the third time. His judgment has been a little compromised by the stress, so clearly, the only rational course of action is to make an ass out of himself on the network.]
's not like the scenery down there was breathtaking, either. And even if we get enough supplies to make it through, even if... [give him a second] ...Even if we return things to the way they were, what's the endgame? Don't really care about whatever war this is part of. Nothing but trouble...
I... ugh.
Class is... cancelled. Indefinet--... Indifi--... Forever.

Go sleep off the liquor.

[Damn. He had something good there.]
You go to sleep.

[Okay. Collect your thoughts, Kenjirou. Try not to think about the embarrassment from a second ago. Definitely try not to think about how you had the worst thing that can happen to anyone happen to you today.]
[...Nope. There it is. Aaand there's the bitter mix of anger and desperation.]
Bedtime's for kids. Take your own advice.

All you're going to wind up doing is making an ass of yourself.
no subject
[...Well, time to close up shop, because that's as self-aware as Kenjirou's going to get in his entire life. He didn't get to that conclusion through actual introspection, but still.]
What does it matter to you, anyways...?

[...Surprisingly decent grammar and spelling. Typing comes naturally to Kenjirou.]
Not everything is about being stuck on the moon. Some of us have other problems.

[Kenjirou waits for a second, then deletes what he's written. At first, he thought he was speaking to one of the Kisaragis, but that last comment...]
Who is this?

How am I supposed to believe something like that?
[It's a genuine question. Kenjirou's experiences, both home and right here, have made everything look like a fleeting dream. There's a certain irony to be found in being rendered unable to truly feel rested by the accident from years ago, but being scared that he'll lose everything again the next time he wakes up.]

[Kido hesitates, taking a breath so she won't look upset before flipping the video on. She sits back against a wall with her hood up but it'd be hard to mistake her for anyone else. Then again she knows she hasn't done the greatest job at keeping in touch (on purpose, of course, but doing it right now would just be stupid).
Muttered:] How many people would use 'Tsubomi' anyway?

[Even in his daze, Kenjirou's still Kenjirou, and so, is pretty much physically incapable of not worrying for his family. It's a different case from the one with Ayano and Ayaka, though. Having a family member pass away is devastating, but to know they're still out there, and being unable to help them and try to keep what's left of your family safe... well, it's a lot more of a long-term concern.]
Are you okay? Kousuke and Shuuya... have all of you been keeping safe? How long has it been for you since everything that happened?
[A little discomposed, perhaps, but Kido's getting almost three years of unceasing fretting expressed in a rapid-fire series of questions, and Kenjirou's current lack of tact isn't helping. To be fair, she did get Kenjirou to regret not being sober right now. This isn't exactly how he hoped this reunion would go, but he's not complaining.]

Two years back home but if you count here, too, it's getting close to three. We're fine. [Well. 'Fine' is relative. She's not about to tell him she died, for example, or how hurt she's gotten herself on missions, especially when he's already not doing well.] ...At home, Seto has a few jobs and Kano is lazy as ever. I take care of them.
[After a pause.] We're fine here, too.

[Kenjirou isn't so worried about the fact that they hadn't seen each other for so long (he's fully willing to believe it was by mere chance), but to have most of his children in such a dangerous place for a year is less acceptable.]
[Kenjirou momentarily leaves the screen to grab his stuff, his voice still quite audible. It is, however, accompanied by a crash.]
I... I need to come over. Where...?
[He's okay. Don't worry.]
no subject
Dad, hold on. Don't- ah... [Kido runs her hands over her face.] ...Why don't I meet you halfway? The observatory or your room, pick.
[She grabs her bag and checks to make sure there's a water bottle left to give him.]

[Still off-screen. Kenjirou didn't want to see any of his roommates before this happened, so leaving his room suits him just fine. He's dazed, certainly, but he's also very, very determined to see this through.]
[As Kenjirou grabs the essentials, he deposits the tablet in his coat. His more valuable possession, a pair of hair clips, goes into the middle of his shirt. Kenjirou gives a soft smile as he comes to the conclusion that, while he wasn't looking, Ayano must have met her siblings one more time.]
[He leaves the room.]

Dad's had almost a year to figure that out.
[It's not fair for him to act this way when they've cut off almost all contact with him for the past few years. If anything, it's a question Kenjirou should be asking them. Forget the fact that they've never contacted him outright until now. He was the parent here. Even in a situation like this, couldn't he have looked a little harder?
Knowing him, though, he'd probably been absorbed in his work. As it always had been after Mom's death.]

I couldn't even find you back home. If the possibility of finding you seemed so distant there...
Aa. That does sound like an excuse, doesn't it? No matter what happened, I really do owe you an apology. I should've tried harder to get you to stay. Even if just that much isn't enough...
[Kenjirou lets a moment pass. He knows his children's habits. Their manner of speaking and writing. Assuming they haven't changed that much, then...]
...Shuuya? Is that you?
no subject
He's being handed an apology. But for some reason he doesn't feel any better. His voice is cheerful when he answers Kenjirou, masking what he's feeling as usual.]
Ah, Dad's as sharp as ever! Good job, good job. You figured it out pretty quickly.
[not here]
video;
You okay there, buddy?

Gettin' by. Thanks, Goodman.
[Obviously not true.]

[A light tap of his desk with his hand results in Kenjirou missing and almost falling to the ground. He regains his balance in time. Somehow.]
My daughter's gone...

There goes Saul's desire to be a jerk. His expression shifts from amused to concerned in a matter of milliseconds.]
Easy there, mister teacher. Where are you right now?

If it doesn't matter, that makes your pointless ramblings on the subject less than worthless. Perhaps you ought to keep them confined to your diary next time?

[As if anyone would ever want to be taught by him again... Actually, he was never exactly a role model.]

There's no room for nihilism here. Those of us who are actually trying to make a difference don't need it from you.

I wasn't even relevant in my original world. I mean, I didn't mind. I don't want to matter to anyone here. I just want... agh...

What do you have waiting for you back home?

A war. People I care about, in that war without me.
Also just... finishing what I started.
video;
...Are you okay?
no subject
'm... I'm alright. Thank you, Momo... Er. Kisaragi.
[For a moment, Kenjirou got a little too reminiscent of happier times when he addressed his students more casually.]

Ah... Are you sure? That...
...Um. Is class really canceled forever?!
