It's fading. A dream set in stone is not as strong as a dream in mists, both will fade under the careless hands of nature and time. Here it seems I have grown too confined in my solitude. It is hard to remember the sounds and force the letters together.

I should step outside.

But endless streets lay ahead outside, hollow, empty, without any true purpose. I grow tired of such. I want to go back home, to where I can hear the ocean and run along the worn paths tread upon by my ancestors...

[ The feed clicks on to video, Takegami is nursing a cracked lip, a fresh bruise forming on one cheekbone. Despite the obvious signs of having been in a fight and his depressed words, he has an almost maniac cheer about him. He twists his head to one side, then the other and smiled. ]

I really dislike the drinking climate here. No one [ Raises a finger, and yes, his knuckles are bruised ] can throw a decent punch.

I can be rather American in many ways. [ Another smile and then a healthy swallow of alcohol. ]

Let's see... there was the fact that one was sporting a rather large growth on his face that resembled a second nose. Another was trying to hit on someone else's wife while said someone was trying to accuse me of the crime.

Americans are accommodating? [She grew up on a colony in space and has only been on Earth a few times since joining the Alliance.]

[Okay, she can't help but laugh.] The second I can understand, but was insulting that poor guy worth it?

They can be very free with familiarity. [ He chuckles, half shrugging. ]

I thought I was being generous in my description. I could have mentioned that his second nose needed a tissue.

[She smirks.] That's right. I've seen the old movies.

You probably should have. Then he would be confused on whether you were being insulting or helpful.

Ah, but I was so trying to see if he was going to ignore the growth or not. He tried covering it right before he threw a punch.

Sounds like he should have been more focused on his actions than his unfortunate looks if he was going to go ahead and pick a fight.
