Hi everyone, I hope everyone is doing okay. While I have your attention I'd like to remind everyone that if you're feeling down I am available to give blessings and brief mood enhancements, just ask nicely! I will also listen if you want to talk. I'm here to help!

But N-E ways... Does anyone here have a dress I could borrow? Ideally something that would work in the late 19th Century. I know we all got up here in a hurry and don't have a lot of things, but I thought I'd ask. I am 4'11'' with a pretty slight build. Please and thank you!

How do you do that? Is it something you can teach?

I can't, unfortunately. It's more like a talent I was born with.

But you shouldn't worry, Ico, because you're special enough on your own!

Could you use it on the soldiers? Will that make them stop?

I don't have the kind of power to reach that many people, and even if I could... I don't think it would work. I can't change people's hearts. Maybe they'd be less violent, maybe they wouldn't.

I can't make anyone do anything really, Ico, that's not the point of what I do. [Mahdi does seem terribly sad about it, though.]

What's the point of it?

To encourage others to do right on their own. That's why I'm always trying to help others however I can.

But humans must make their own choices - I'm not supposed to influence them, just... show them they're loved.

[By whom? Ico looked distant. It resonated with one of the mysteries from the castle, though he supposed Mahdi would know nothing about it. There was love here. The voice of Ozuma was still clear in his head.]

No. I'm not. It's complicated, but... I love humans very much!

All humans? Why?

[moralperil]

Because your souls are beautiful!

I can! Not on the video screen, but when I talk to people face-to-face.

You have a bright soul, Ico! You're a good kid.

What does your soul look like?

[moralperil]

I don't even know if I have one, actually! [This cheerfulness is slightly forced.] I like to think it would be pretty bright, though that's not why I do what I do.

Doesn't everyone have a soul? I think yours is bright, too. That means it's good, right?

[moralperil]

The brightness, or weight of a soul, is determined by all the times you've hurt people against the times you've helped. I don't know if mine would be that bright at all.

I don't know if all people have souls. I just know it's my job to look out for the human ones - and those are the ones I can see.

But you help a lot of times, so you must have a bright soul even if you can't see it.
