Hello.

[On screen is a pleasant looking young woman with short blonde hair and red eyes that might be dimly glowing, or is that a trick of the light? Something about the way she's speaking - in a clear English accent - has the air of someone who's practiced this speech beforehand.]

My name is Seras Victoria, it's my first time addressing the network here so nice to meet you all.

I'd like to talk about another particular issue of resources on the moon, though this resource is er... a little different from the others.

Some of you may be aware that werewolves aren't the only supernatural creatures living among you. Some of us are vampires.

[She won't name any names, respecting the privacy of those who would rather not publically announce what they are.]

I'm asking if anyone here would be willing to volunteer to donate blood specifically for the vampire population. There would be no biting involved ~~Jan~~ and it would never more than once a week, depending on how many people volunteer.

[Seras smiles hopefully.]

I know it's possible that we could make a supply run to a hospital or blood bank somewhere using the transport system but I'd rather not take it from where it might damage lives. We could do with getting the medical equipment to collect and store the blood however. Bags and a fridge for example. If anyone with medical knowledge could help that would be appreciated.

To any other vampires out there, I know a couple of you but if you'd like to contact me, privately if you wish, to have access to whatever we manage to organise, please do.

Thank you, Seras. I don't know if it's the sentience that they talked about or if it's because I'm not stuck in that training facility...but it seems like it's a little better here. I'm not getting scared as much.

[It helps that her life is generally better here. Not that it was a high bar to aim for in the first place, but it is better.]

That's great. Children should never have to feel scared, or go through what you have. This should be a safer place for you.

I don't really mind danger, though. Not anymore. I can use what I can do to protect people who didn't grow up fighting. I know I don't have to, but I'd prefer to. Then...then it's like there's a point to all of it.

[Oh... that's really quite sad.]

You're really brave, Lily. If that's what you choose it's okay, choice is very important... it makes us who we are. That choice is a good one, I think.

Thank you, Seras. I want to get myself a gun...I'm a pretty good shot and I'm less likely to lose control that way.

[In the past she'd always been more prone to losing control if she was fighting with hand to hand combat, and it was always easier to snap her back into reality if she was fighting with some distance between her and the opponent.]

A gun? I could try and help you get one, if the Initiative here can't provide then perhaps we can visit a gun store somewhere using the transporter.

I tend to use heavier artillery but I do know about handguns, and I have a friend who knows about gunsmithing.

I'm used to something small-ish, but I'm strong enough that I could handle the recoil of a bigger gun.

[She'd just have to ensure that she tried it out at a shooting range to get used to it. Just because her injuries healed right away didn't mean that she wanted to chance hurting her wrist at a critical moment.]
