If members of the force could touch base with me it would be appreciated. Note that being on duty while here will require only that you be able to respond to calls sent into the police line. We are all busy and I have no intention of tying anyone to a desk when there is so much to be done.

( Collette sends off a short "Will do!" before she goes quiet. For a little, she wonders if she should ask Caesar if he thought this wise; but she knew it didn't matter if he said no. She couldn't research like he could to help find answers, and she was too scared that she'd bring parts of the UE's attention home to throw herself into mission after mission, for all they needed them. One or two... one or two should be okay. As long as they're brief. As long as they're not going to give away something secret.

She stops by Ros's 'office' two hours later. )

Ros? Are you in?

( She sits in her chair, well groomed and looking more freshly scrubbed. She'd showered before coming. It'd felt -- cleansing, outside of the obvious way. )

[ Roslyn is behind a table that she's press ganged into serving as a desk, bent over her tablet as she works at coordinating lists and seeing how she can put the rosters together in a way that will work best. ]

Right here. [ But she looks up as Collette enters, puts the tablet down and folds her hands. ] There's a few things to discuss for any new recruit, but it shouldn't take long. How are you?

Better than I could be, bothered by recent events. How about you?

( She asks as she slows her chair to a stop, opposite the table from where Roslyn sits. She wonders if this will be much like a job interview. The only one she ever had was self assigned when she'd told Barnaby she'd take over his training.

She liked to think she'd done a good job, for all they'd drifted over time. )

Busy, naturally. But not bad.

[ And leaning forward. ]

Mostly what I need right now is to be certain that you'll be able to perform your duties without it harming you.

That sort of depends on what those duties are, doesn't it? Like, say, having me go rock climbing could get me hurt, but so could chasing people down in morph, or doing paperwork. papercuts are serious!

( She smiles at the end of that, but she schools her face into a serious expression. )

Everything's dangerous in what we do, if it's on a mission, to help keep the peace, or to save a few of our friends. If you mean harming my health, well, I can ask for a doc to sign off on that! As long as I don't push too hard and keep up with therapy like normal, I should be okay.

I wouldn't mind documentation from a doctor that it won't be a problem, but for the moment I'll take your word.

We have a fairly basic code of conduct I expect all officers to know, which I'll transfer to your tablet. It also includes standard procedure for any arrests. I'll want to run you through a short training session to be sure you've got it down before I send you out, but other than that I just need you to give me a schedule of your availability.

It's usually open, but that might depend on what we need to get done up here.

( She's trying to think about this responsibly. )

If Caesar ends up coming up with some sort of plan in helping things out, I'll be helping him, too, but generally outside of needing time for stretching and exercise kind of therapies, I'm flexible. Have you guys done all that many arrests?

On the surface, very few. I'm not anticipating there will be much trouble here so long as the stay is short and it's clear there will be consequences, but.

[ A slight shrug. ]

You put these many volatile people in such a small space, I don't know if anything's possible to predict.

We don't even know how long itll be... but I hear we can get other parts of the base open. That should help?

I think it should, yes. It's still a situation that has the potential to go south very quickly.

When no one can get away from each other...

( She nods. )

Different people need more privacy, and this is kind of heading toward major cabin fever, even if you're off on missions every other day.

Precisely. So I'm preparing for the potential worst, as well as I can.

Well. [ A slightly self deprecating gesture. ] I hope I'm doing a good job. I'll put you down on the roster and let you know when you're expected to be handling any reports.

( She pulls a face, but waves, wheeling herself back with a grin not long after. )
