001 // tiny researches [TEXT]
Good evening. I'm Carlos, a new arrival. I'm a human scientist, from Earth, year 2013.
I was hoping that some transports would be able to help me with an informal survey regarding their home world and time points. Feel free to leave some answers blank, I just wanted to get an idea of what different worlds are out there. This is for my own personal research, but I appreciate any help you can provide. I apologize if someone has asked these questions before, I just wanted to get up-to-date data.
Thanks!
[There's a small survey attached!]
World name:
Date you left and arrived here:
Days in a year:
Hours per day:
Moons? (If YES, how many):
Climate (desert, forest, etc.):
Home country and city:
Carbon-based life? (If NO, please clarify which element, eg. silicon):
Races (Human/Non-Human):
Brief description of technology in your world:
Has your race ever encountered extraterrestrial life? (If YES, please elaborate):

You see, elements are arranged on what we call the Periodic Table according to their atomic number- this also tells us how many protons and electrons are in an atom. They must be equal, because atoms have a neutral charge. An atom with either a positive or neutral charge is called an ion.
[He purses his lips a little as he focuses, and...there! A small model of a carbon atom, floating in the air, yellow electrons locked in their orbits, moving quickly, and red and blue spheres clustered together in the middle.]
This is what an atom looks like! Kind of. But this should give you an idea...umm, this is carbon.
[He pointed to the nucleus.]
See, that's six protons, and six electrons outside, here. That means it's carbon. Carbon is a solid, usually.
See, if there were seven... [And the little atom shifts to accommodate more particles.] It would be Nitrogen, which is a gas, usually. Nitrogen is a very common element in the known universe!
[He smiles. Neat, huh?]

And she is very clearly impress. ]
That's really cool! How many are there total?
video
Er...umm...there are...118...but only 98 that occur naturally on Earth.
[He nods. Wow, so that's what a troll looks like? How interesting!]
80 of them are stable, and the rest are radioactive.
video
[ Give her a moment to digest all that. ]
Sooo... are there any of these carbons in the ocean?

[WOW THIS IS EXCITING!]
I mean, ah...I'd like that very much, if you don't mind.
