Hey everyone,
This is a terrible situation no matter how you try to phrase it, and we had to make a frankly horrific decision.
It took me a while to learn this, so I wanted to say it in the hopes that it would help someone: no matter how awful it seems right now, you don't have to hate yourself. Hate the situation, hate the enemies, but it's not all your fault, no matter how much it might seem that way if you're used to always being able to save the day. I know because I've felt this way---just recently, actually.
I'm not saying it's definitely going to be all right. The memory will always be with us, and I can't look into our future to see for certain that it ends well. But I think we stand a chance of undoing the damage.

I know a lot of us are feeling this way right now, but I'm not sure if hating the UE is going to help, either.
We have to find a way to fix things as soon as possible...
[Voice]
Hate might be the wrong word, but we need the resolve to keep going.

They're going to need to stop being so tight-lipped with us if this is going to stand a chance of working. How can we plan when the Initiative won't share their ideas with us?
[Voice]
At least, that's what I believe...
[Voice]
What are your plans?
[Voice]
There are still parts of the base which aren't yet habitable, right? And I'm sure there'll be plenty of other chores that need to be taken care of. Oh, and we're going to need to get our hands on more supplies eventually.
And then there's finding a way to somehow...
[Undo this nightmare.]
[Voice]
It's a heavy burden, I know.
I'll probably be out gathering supplies too. Tools and construction equipment will be my first priorities---anything I can build specialized weapons and tools with.
[Voice]
So, what types of tools and equipment are you going to need to make... [this one is not at all tech-savvy] whatever it is you're making?
[Voice]
It needs fuel and an engine to combust that fuel. The engine's easy enough, but the main problem is obtaining its fuel.

[Voice]
Well, good luck with your projects. I'll do my best, too.

We don't just stand a chance. We'll undo the damage for sure.

[It can't be seen from here, but he's smiling faintly.]
Have you been touring our new home?

In that case, we could escape if the transport pads were functioning...but then we'd be stuck sometime in the past for a while, or maybe permanently.
That's why I want to focus on reinforcing what we have already. I'm familiar with what's needed to maintain a livable environment out here. And...it's a little scary when the airlock opens.
I've almost fallen out one.

Something like my uniform, maybe. Or the uniforms from my previous space station stay.

It's designed to protect us in combat---as ridiculous as it might look from the outside, the pressure distribution does work.

Something like that would be ideal, I think. We need to be prepared for anything... all 300 or so of us.
Quite a few missions' worth of suits.

In the meantime, though, I'm trying to help research what can be done to rewrite history for a better outcome. It's far more complicated than I expected.
