Exsilium! Fuck yes I knew I could f-- People haven't died, the disappearances have been due to the United Earth, because they're raging assholes. Experimenting on people with powers and treating anyone who doesn't seem to have any like relative dirt. Sort of. Anyway, short time, still upgrad--- ing. Oh, shit! Yes! Okay so people who are missing are probably just missing not gone home, I hope [ he really hopes because he hasn't found Pepper yet ], I reserve the right to be incorrect, it doesn't happen often, relish here as necessary. We're in the UE if we are missing, and I'm looking for a few people I already knew were supposed to have been gone. So far no such luck, and I don't know where the base itself is. While that sounds useless, if any of you can crack this ridiculously high powered encryption that even I couldn't crack, then go for it. [ Hint: no one can crack it it's an ooc uncrackable (for now) ] Otherwise, just... Batten down the hatches. I doubt this is gonna turn out well, okay? But it'll be fine. Good to see you guys.

EDIT: AND THIRD NOTE tony is totes cool with handing this tablet off to other people currently in the UE who want to get messages to people back in Exsilium, so feel totally free to create a new thread calling someone out and we'll just assume tony either handed it to you, or is looking over your shoulder like a creeper. (edit: if he can, he'll be trying to electrotechopathic his way into your threads. he might not be able to but it won't stop him trying. ]

[ Well, he's got a lot of people to chat with now, but that's not really something that's going to keep him from talking to her too. Just divides his attention a little bit. ]

Now we let the huddled masses huddle and find a way to save our asses en masse. Contact made with the network back home is promising, but until there's a good scale for how close they are to us, I don't see any point in waiting around.

[ That's okay, she doesn't actually want him to pay close attention to her. She'd rather just kind of talk about nothing because she can't not be here. ]

We had trouble going up against the Masked when it was all of us with powers. [ Just pointing out the facts here, Tony. ] So how is it we're going to save our asses, exactly?

[ shut up don't talk reason with him okay it's depressing ] They haven't got our experience with using them. Technically, we should be the perfect candidates to target the holes in our own defenses.

[ she's an extremely pragmatic person, okay, she's been in this situation before and she refuses to see it as anything but what it is. ] We're human. Whatever the Masked are, they aren't that. [ shrug. ] Sneak out? Maybe. Fight our way out? It's not going to happen.

I'm not saying they'll have our weaknesses, just that they won't fully have our strengths. We've made contact with back home - they're trying to come here. We don't have any other choice.

You weren't there for Elmer's world, were you. [ Not particularly a question, and when she looks up at him her expression is stone. ] A lot of people died.

[ Now at that he'll actually give some pause, because no, he wasn't. He was at home, watching his life fall apart, granted, but in witnessing all of that, he bypassed whatever bombshell Elmer's world actually set down. ]

[ She rolls her eyes, shakes her head a little. ]

No, you don't get what I'm saying. I mean that we went up against the Masked in force, with weapons and our powers and preparation, and we died. So often and so repeatedly that they pulled us out of the world and let it burn because there was no other option.

[ A beat, because she's gone up against suicidal odds before. She's good at it. Hell, she feels most alive when she's doing something incredibly stupid with potentially very bad results. Maybe that says something bad about her, but there it is. She just hates people being idealistic about those odds. ] So. You'll forgive me if I think the odds suck.

[ He hadn't intended for it to come out all 'end of the war movie rallying speech before the final victory against all odds', just that, in fighting, people died. He knows. People die when there isn't fighting either. He doesn't see any reason there should ever be a time when people don't die, whether for a reason or not. ]

Of course they suck, but what else are we going to do?

[ She lifts her shoulders slowly, lets them settle again, minimal effort. ]

I'm just saying. Don't expect it to be easy. [ Glancing around. ] Don't expect to make it out of here alive.

[ He's not expecting that either, but he's slightly more curious as to where he got this sort of reputation. ] Anything that can be done to done, needs to be done. I don't think it's going to go well for most of us, but a few, maybe.

[ She thinks anyone not being very pessimistic right now is dumb, sorry Tony. She's not doing a ton of differentiation. ] At least we can get resurrected, huh.

[ well gee isn't she a ray of sunlight ] Kinda takes the thrill out of it.

[ it's like you said. she's always mad, man. ] Oh, yeah. Totally. [ And then without quite as much sarcasm dripping from it. ] A lot easier to die when you know that's it.

[ her glance slides away to the other side of the room, refusing to meet his eyes ] Sounds kind of like it would be. You know, that's it. You don't have to go through all that and then start over again. [ in theory of course. ]
