[Lily's still nervous, even after discovering that she's free of that underground facility. Not only does she not know what happened to her fellow test subjects, but it's a big change, and there will still be fighting. Will she accidentally hurt someone? She hopes not. She flips on the video feed. There are two things worth noting about the young girl's features. The first is that her eyes are yellow. Perhaps the most notable, however, is the metal collar around her neck. It doesn't look like jewelry.]

I just have a question for everyone. What do you do to relax when you're scared or upset?

[She doesn't want to mention the extent of her problems, but she shouldn't lie either. So she just won't say anything if she's not comfortable talking about it, or she'll change the subject. That usually works for her.]

This place is very different than what I'm used to, so I'd really appreciate any suggestions. Oh! And I'm also looking for flowers. The place I lived in didn't have any, and I've always wanted to smell real flowers. Thank you for your time.

There are quite a number who own or cultivate plants, if I remember correctly.

[Her eyes zero in on that collar, narrowing slightly. Where did this girl come from?

The concern only shows for a moment, though, and then she's smiling.]

As for flowers, I'd talk to Tsubomi.

I draw! Or cook, cooking's good... and you get to eat afterward!

[He pauses, thoughtfully.] There's some flowers around, if you look. Someone said something about the gardens, but I dunno much about that.

[Carol wants to ask about the collar when she sees it, but she'll wait. She doesn't want to end up offending the other girl.]

I don't know very much about flowers, but I read whenever I get scared. Preferably books with happy endings, that always puts me in a good mood.

I like to go for walks.

[And also to the gun range but this is a little girl she's talking to.]

Like other folks said, we got a pretty big library. There's also a theater that shows movies sometimes...

[He looks her over, notes the collar, and frowns.]

[She can't see the sign of anything that looks like it would be actual plant life in the background from what she can see...]

[Lily responds to the smile with a little one of her own.]

What kind of books do you like to read when you want to relax? And do you know where I'd find Tsubomi?

I never tried cooking before...there was always a cafeteria with food. Is it hard?

How do you know if a book is going to have a happy ending until you finish reading it?

I used to get a lot of exercise...but I didn't really get to go out to explore and walk around before.

[Lily knows how to handle guns better than someone her age should.]

What's a movie? ...and are those real trees?

Oh, well you should take the chance. The city seems safe enough, tohugh you should probably make sure you wear a jacket. Or get an umbrella, you could catch a cold with all this rain.

So um, how come you couldn't before?

[She wonder if it's something to do with that disconcerting collar around the girls neck?]

I don't think I can get sick. I've never gotten sick before. ...and I wasn't allowed out. I was supposed to train and study.

[His reply comes an hour later, in voice. There's the sound of footsteps]

A movie is like...

It's like a buncha pictures that move and talk and tell a story.

And, yeah, the trees are real. Won't see too many of 'em around the city, though.

Well it never hurts to be careful, especially if you've never really been out before.

[It sounds so sad.]

I try to think about things that relax me, even if I don't have access to them. Maybe try thinking of home, or a good smell or tasty food that you like? Something that comforted you in the past.

Oh wow, a movie sounds pretty cool!

[It sounds like something she'd like to see at least once in her life, although the first thing on that list still remains flowers. She doesn't know what's become of Heine and Giovanni, but she and Giovanni talked once about seeing real flowers. There's a possibility that her friends may be dead and she should at least honour their memory.]

How do I get to the area that's got trees, then? It is a park? Or a forest?

[Well. That's... not something you see every day. A girl with a collar - not a familiar one, but a collar nonetheless - who has never seen real flowers. It sounds more like something she might have experience with than she wants to admit.]

I like to take care of plants. I don't have any flowers here, but I used to-- and I have a tomato plant if you would like to see it.

Well I know I don't stay hurt for very long at all if I get hurt, but I'll try to remember to get a coat.

[Still, she appreciates that someone's trying to be nice to her, so.]

[Part of her is still dreading what might have happened, especially since she first arrived with blood on her hands - blood that was hastily washed off as soon as she found a nearby puddle.]

I think I'd like taking care of plants, too.

[There's a brief moment of hesitation, before Nill switches on her own video feed. She smiles gently, and lifts a hand to wave, before continuing with typing.]

Where are you staying? I could meet you there and show you how to get to my room if you want. You can come over and take care of my tomatoes, too.
