There's a few churches. ( Her own smile is rueful. ) Some of them are in better condition than others.

( And most - she doesn't know about all, it's not like she's tried to go to ever single church in what was once London - are in disrepair.

She couldn't say what time the lady is from by a glance, but it's the name that catches her, and she wonders if her own accent would mean anything, if she'd be familiar with Sicily even if a unified Italy is off the cards, based on her clothes.
