what's the coolest thing you've ever done on a mission or the best place you've gone

OR hypothetically if you could choose one place to go for a mission what place would you want to go? i'm curious

My favorite? Believe me, we'd be here for hours trying to decide that. I've read some Jules Verne novels recently, though, and they were fantastic.

Several favorites. There's very little I'd rather do than read, honestly.

From what I gathered before I wound up here, he was particularly famous for his science fiction. "Around the World in Eighty Days" and "The Mysterious Island," that sort of thing.

They are! If you get the chance to read them, definitely give them a try.

"Around the World in Eighty Days" is probably one of the more famous ones - a man basically makes a bet that he can circumnavigate the entire world in less than three months, and he does it. With only a carpet bag of belongings, at that.

When I was younger, we didn't have many books like that. Either that, or they were deemed "unladylike." Not that there's anything wrong with sweeping romances, but variety is nice.

Boats and trains - even an elephant, at one point. Apparently in most adaptations, there's a balloon at some point. Not in the book, though.

And it all had to do with how I was brought up. My father wanted me raised in a certain way, and I guess adventure novels were counterproductive to that. Not the way I would've wanted it, and I still don't agree, but.

It'd be quite the adventure, wouldn't it? I've always wanted to fly, honestly.

And that I can! I could when I got older, too. Once I moved out, sort of.

Here's hoping!

[ her next response takes a moment longer than usual to come - proper wording, all that nonsense. ]

Well, I moved out of my father's home to work for another man. A maid in his castle, basically, and while he had a library and I was more than welcome to use it, it wasn't until a bit later that I had any real freedom with my selections. That's all.

It was. The castle itself could've done with a bit of lightening up, though. [ GET IT BECAUSE IT WAS CALLED THE "DARK CASTLE" LOL SHE'S HILARIOUS no ] Overall, it was - livable.

I wound up as the man's maid. The books weren't technically MINE, I just had the opportunity to read them.

At that particular time, no.

It is, in a sense. But I still didn't get to decide what stocked that library. I had to pick from his collection. That's what I mean.

Actually, no, it wasn't! I've been here a little over a month, now, but, well. Suffice to say I'm not unaccustomed to modern conveniences.

He did, actually, for the most part. Things I wouldn't've gotten to read anywhere else. A fair amount of things on magic.

It's a bit complicated. The whole concept of moving from one world to another is something I'm kind of used to. Everyone back home is, really; it's because of a curse. We went from castles and magic one day to a modern town and no memories, basically.

For now, at least. There were some important things I needed to take care of at home, memories or no, but there's not much I can do about it now beyond fight and pray the rumors were right.

But you haven't told me anything about yourself!

My town's under attack. I was put in charge of protecting it, but that got derailed.

Anything you'd like to tell me! Where would YOU most like to go on a mission?
